Kidd is the best overall PG in the league but that may not be true next year. IMO Marbury has proved he is awefully close to Kidd, and far and away the #2 PG in the league.

Francis and GP--but possibly not in that order though--round out the top 4, with Davis when healthy a solid 5th IMO.

I will add one minor point. Against the Spurs offensively in the half court Marbury (who destroyed Parker on both ends as well as the Spurs defense in general prior to his arm injury) or Francis cause a lot more havoc than Kidd (or Nash) does.

San Antonio is simply doing a good job of neutralizing Kidd's strengths and making him play to his weakness. He's not the best shooter on the floor, but he is a good passer & playmaker. San Antonio's been cutting off the passing lanes. Kidd's hesitant to take shots ... and with due cause; he really isn't making 'em.

    Um ... Go Rockets?

what IS interesting (and rocket related) is that parker's performance in the finals may be enough to convince the spurs to keep him and go after a big man instead of jason kidd. maybe the rockets can throw their name into the jason kidd free agent hat.

tim played that series, and j-kidd was playing injured that whole series. in fact, he missed a game - maybe two - because of it. yet, when he played, he dominated and damn near willed the suns to victory.

    try again.

nevermind. you're right. tim did miss that series.

nevertheless, phoenix regularly carved up the spurs during the season.

Jason Kidd is a good player. Avery good PG. But for me, he's highly overrated. He isn't a very talented player. I think he has luck. He haven't the talent of Marbury, Steve, Payton or Nash.
He's a very good passer, a very good rebounder, all you likes. BUt he can't score easily. It seems you are forgot that's the most important thing on basketball. All other( defense, pass, game direction...) is so good, but this is an offense game, and a game to score, and he can't score. Now yoy can say " he don't scores but he gives a lot of baskets". Well, but he can't do this 2 things togethers. Or he passes or he shoots, and when he shoot he does it well the 40% of times.
A player who can't score with facility cant be named the best PG of the league. A basket player without talent to score is like a top model without physical, and she can be tall, talk elegantly...
    BUt she´s not pretty!!!.
Tha east Pg's are only defensedefenseanddefense. So in the country of the blinds the blind in one eye is the king.
In the west he's the Kidd of the finals. A kidd killed by parker(oooh and what a defense on him).

Down with Kidd:mad:   DOwn with talentless!!!!
Up with talent, up Stephon, Franchise, Nash, PAyton, Bibby

Kidd may lack talent. But he has a brain. The stupidity of Franchise and Stephon really gets to me sometimes. I start screaming at the television.

Funny that you call Kidd overrated and talentless. Those two words aptly describe Bibby.

Marbury is waaaaaaaay smarter than Francis. Marbury, at this point in his career, is a way better player than Francis.

However, I attribute a lot of that to a supporting cast that compliments him brilliantly.
