My S3 power button issue is driving me insane, I can't get it to turn on anymore because it's too sensitive and it thinks I'm pressing the button so when it starts to boot up and turns itself off..... So looks like I'm in the market for a new phone. I might try to replace the power button parts....but I'm ready for something new. Liking the S5, but is a drop in price for it coming anytime soon? Driven by s6?

Still the best value behind only the one plus one. Still has modern specs(1080p screen, snapdragon 800, 2 gigs of ram etc) and runs pure android, the way android is supposed to be. There are other small nuances that never gets mentioned when comparing smart phones also. Did anyone know that the nexus 5 has one of the lowest touch latency(touch screen response time) numbers outside of an apple or windows phone device? Nexus 5 is still an underrated gem.
You have to look for sales. When the s5 came out, VZW offered $100 off all smart phones. They screwed up my online order, so they applied my $50 MIR instantly. When i got the phone, I submitted MIR and got it. The phone was 250 and I ended up paying $50. Sams Club usually has them for a pretty good price.

Yeah, forgot about the Nexus 5. I actually had it the week after it was on sale on the Google Play Store. Went from the Note 2 to it. It had worser battery life than the Note 2 at 100% brightness with the mod to brighten it up even a bit more so that was disappointing. Only reason I sold it and got a Note 3. Sold my a Note 3 recently and now I'm on the Oneplus One. My nephew has the Nexus 5 now but he's having the issue where it drops mobile connection if he's using LTE or 3G on T-Mobile. 2G works fine however. He got a replacement from Google and it does the same thing. Even with different ROMs and radios. We even went to the T-Mobile kiosk at the mall and their display model is having the same issue. This problem is prominent if you do a Google search on it. People never got it fixed and are blaming Google for not fixing the issue and even being concerned that it is a problem.
Hmm... The first time I heard of this issue and I routinely venture the XDA Nexus 5 forums. I guess I was lucky and received a good unit. Anyways, I'm pretty sure every major handset has a "prominent" issue or defect.
Ordered early on a Saturday morning. Got it that Friday. This was when they first started shipping a lot of units. I assume it may be quicker now. I ordered a Driztronic matte blue TPU case. It shipped today.
For a while i was hunting and going on the forums etc for an one plus invite but that gets annoying pretty fast. Now pretty much just holding out to see what the note 4 brings. I've enjoyed my note 10.1 2014, so maybe a note 4 could make it no longer needed. If not worth it, I will just get a note 3 off ebay if still can't get an one plus invite.
Im in the same boat...going from an S3 to a new phone. My S3 is still working great, but about a year ago, I shattered the screen...after replacing it, there has been a lot of dust that's gotten up under the new screen, so it's really annoying to look at. At this point, Im going for the LG G3. I like the specs on it...the battery life is not as good as the S5, but getting 5-6 hours of "On Screen" time is more than I will need (my S3 currently gets about 2 hours of "On Screen" time). The LG has the ridiculous screen, almost non existent bezel, 3 GB RAM, solid camera, loud speaker, etc... And Knock Knock. :grin:
also currently on an s3. The latest update hosed my EQ apps, and some other nuisances. I actually like the multi window feature of touchwiz, and haven't spotted any roms that have this that could be flashed just with odin.
