He cannot because his small world revolves around the Lin fans. Psychiatrists call it acute and obscure sentimental attachment.
This thread is going to be gold throughout the year. The first good game Lin has, the Lin fans will return in full force. It'll be fun times.
The Lin fans are gone man. All that's left are trolls pretending to be be fans, haters, and trolls in general. Add to that we have Harden and Howard, two other very polarizing figures, and there are a ton of trolls here.
back to actual discussion of Lin the player playing for the Lakers and not Lin fans/trolls/momsspaghetti, seems like Lin will see alot of minutes with the Lakers, Nash is going to back him up and Nash sadly has just fallen off a cliff in terms of health in recent years, really tough given how amazing he looked even in his last few years in PHX. A lineup of Jerry Lin/Blek Membe/Dude banging Iggy Azalea/Prick/Predator should see alot of action on the perimeter, Boozer/Hill like to roll to the basket and Kobe in his old age isn't going to be pounding the rock as much. I do think Lin has developed his talents as a basketball player during his time in Houston, but his skillset is redundant when you have James Harden who does everything Lin does at an elite level. He really needs to develop his game off the ball because no team will hand him the keys to the offense the way MDA did. Good chance for Lin to have a solid season as a starter in LA, could see him getting $4M per year and up if he surpasses his HOU averages
On the 2012-13 Rockets, Lin averaged 32 min/game, was the #3 scoring option behind Harden and Parsons, and averaged 13/6. On the 2013-14 Rockets, Lin averaged 29 min/game, was the #4 scoring option behind Harden, Parsons, and Howard, and averaged 12/4. On the 2014-15 Lakers, I think Lin will average 33/game, be the #3 scoring option behind Bryant and Young, and average 15/7 (due to Bryant's production being down as he returns from the Achilles injury, Lin playing in a contract year, and Lin playing in the bright lights of LA with a favorable Asian American fanbase).
people don't realize there were only around 9 shots to spare with harden/dwight/ parsons. Lin should get 14 easily. Lowry and Dragic put up the same amount of points in their first year out of houston because they took limited shots. Lin will also get to the line because it's LA just as much as he did in November last season when parsons was struggling. High turnovers around 3.7 should be the norm but it doesn't matter if the offense is clicking. Only concern will be with his wild style to the basket, will he be injury free? "we'll see." he should also shoot less threes but not be scared of the three pt shot. smaller shoes also.
Basically this. If the guy sucked this year given all these circumstances then the haters are right. If he does well this season, I guess we're lucky the extremists are no longer here.
I disagree. Unless he puts up all-star numbers (Gogi and Lowry caliber), they have no point. I'm not sure how much Kobe will play, but Lin should be the healthiest creator on a terrible team. That alone should guarantee better numbers. This doesn't necessarily mean that they will win any more games. Never forget Rudy Gay, Corey Maggette, etc.
Rudy Gay and Corey Maggette were actually pretty good players... That said, there's more Lin Haters than Rudy Gay Haters.
I think some people are really under estimating how much Kobe is going to want the ball and to get up shots. Losing this last season probably makes it tough for him to finish as the #1 scorer, but he will try his damnedest.
