You're right. Truly you have a great grasp of what it takes to win a championship.

I've never heard a championship winning star say anything like 'there are X number of stars on my team, but the pieces surrounding those stars just aren't right'.
I mean, it's not like Lebron, Bosh and Wade gave Riley an ultimatum to upgrade the role players on their team this summer is it?
Kobe never asked for better role players on the Lakers did he?

To be fair, Tim Duncan never asked for better role players, but then again he's always had championship quality role players through the Spurs elite system, so not a fair person to highlight I suppose.

The problem with stars who don't know that they are the stars, is that they don't take the burden of winning on their shoulders, and do what it takes to make it happen. I love that Harden is saying it's on him and Dwight - now they need to walk the talk.
It's kind of the opposite of McGrady's "it's on me" crap. When TMac said it, he was whinging about the pressure on him. Harden and Howard have come out and said 'we want the pressure, because we want to prove we're winners'.

Perfect. At least they are going to try.

Yes because he did it all on by himself. Asik, Lin, Parsons were all just standing around out there twiddling there thumbs....

Wait wasn't Asik #2 in win shares that season? Wasn't Lin and Parsons tied for 3rd? I guess he had some help after all?

Oh you know who else was consistent during the regular season? T-Mac, he didn't do too well in the playoffs tho...

Like I was saying, Harden needs to hold HIMSELF and HIS TEAM accountable and and lead the team past the first round. Thats what a cornerstone would do. They don't just sleep on D and then call their teammates pieces and roleplayers in the media.

For the record, I'm still hoping he gets it together next season, but its getting harder to root for the guy. And I didn't mention the great Kevin Love at all btw.

and it's plain laughable now ppl say Lin has more class than Parson. Remmember just a few weeks ago when Lin quoted bible? and what ppl call him on this site?

last time Lin was the victim, so he fired back. This time Parsons felt he was a star not a piece, so he fired back. Lin was never remotely getting star player treatment on this team, so hes cool.

Yes he was traded. There was absolutely no way he could have stayed in OKC right? OKC just wanted to trade him because they didn't want a player like James Harden right?

So dramatic. What do you think the ever humble michael jordan would have said about horrace grant or toni kukoc?

Wow...such obnoxious ignorance. A 22yr old 6th Man of The Year (On a Finals Team) scoring 17ppg at a blistering .660 TS% ... and you call him a bench player. He was clearly a starter, but they made the choice to bring him off the bench for that scoring punch and to run the offense. And boy did he deliver.

You freaking sign him so you own him. You don't trade him for freaking Kevin Martin. You trade him later, if you want to. It was just flat out a stupid decision about money over winning.

Money > Winning? Weird. That's how I describe OKC's decision to make that horrible trade.

Oh, that just makes perfect sense.

This thread is getting increasingly difficult to read.

Double standard? What is my hypocrisy? For the next 4 years the Rockets will go where Harden takes them. Probably for the next 8 years.

Yup OKC could have paid Harden for a better chance at winning, they didn't. Harden could have taken less money for better chance of winning, he didn't. Parson's could have turned down the Dallas offer and stayed in Houston for a better chance at winning, he didn't.

I would say that money > winning for all of the people and teams I mentioned.

I am glad that Morey didn't match Parson btw. It gives us a better chance at winning later. And I'm sorry I got off topic, I just can't stand the double standards

Harden was willing to take a paycut to stay, but not as much as okc had liked
Harden was willing to play 3rd wheel, and didn't complain about his role, either before or after, ever.
Harden was even willing to take a further paycut than he intended if it included a trade kicker so he wasn't taking a discount for the Timbuktu Tigers.
Harden did not come out and say he was insulted by Presti (despite the one hour deadline being insane)
OKC did not want to pay the luxury tax, under any circumstances.

But by all means, you keep playing that they were alike.

It's accurate but probably best kept unsaid. Howard even said something along the lines of "we have the best center and two-guard in the league"... comes across as cocky.

Like Walter Payton once said, “When you're good at something, you'll tell everyone. When you're great at something, they'll tell you.”

I love reading the comments on ESPN's article. Some really funny and stupid comments on there.

I don't think they would give him all-team honors if the league didn't think he deserved it. It would probably add to the cocky attitude even more so.

It's Troy Daniels saying it, not Ray Allen... my god... What alternative did he have...? Saying that without him making that shot we get swept by the BLazers...?
