Easily T. Jones. D-Mo won't reach more than 50% of his potential unless he's in the right system.

If you do not want to call this offseason a total waste, both Dmo and TJ should make strides.

TJones has more room to grow, is more mobile, and is younger.

Dmo should at least grow into a solid bench player if he cannot crack the starting spot in a few years.

Jones dominated the previous Summer league and had better numbers.

    Dmo was pretty good.

TJ is the better all around player and it's not even close.

D-Mo is a 7 footer with dinosaur arms and he'd rather try to draw a charge than block a shot. He's also light in the @**... Those summer league kids were pushing him around the paint like a rag doll. But he should be a good scoring option off the bench but no more than that at this point.

I was surprised with how bad DMo's defense was even in the summer league. He still needs some work.

Idk why more people aren't excited about Jones. Dude is only 22 and outside of the playoffs, played quite well last season. DMo couldn't even sniff the floor in the playoffs.

I'm hoping DMo can be a solid backup to Dwight/Jones.

I voted for Tjones by the slimmest of margins, I just think he has more to offer right now and in the future than Dmo. Dmo's game is his game and he's reached his ceiling.

However, Tjones must improved in the following areas:
    1. Get in the weight room young man, PF's are pushing you around on the block, in the paint, and for rebounds.
    2. Get a shooting coach and change your jump shot form. Perfect your craft, shooting is the one thing you don't need anyone to do.
    3. Study your craft, especially on the defensive end. Out of place on too many occasions.

As of now I would take Terrence Jones BUT what's has me really happy is that Dmo was dunking in the summer league it seems like he's gaining strength and that's encouraging.

I'm really looking forward to what DMo will do with his national team in the FIBA world cup. Summer league had much of the offense run through him, but the world championships should be more analogous to his role on our team (primarily a role player). In addition, the competition should be better.

Jones should start, but not because I think he is better. DMO should get some touches in the low post with the 2nd unit. The only time DMO should start is against bigger PF, which Jones can not even compete against.

Why not both? They are both under contract this year and next on their rookie deals. Both young players have very different skillsets and project different upside abilities. Why are we having this discussion now about having to make choice?

Most big men aren't really going to accurate depict who they are going to be as an NBA player until their 3rd year in the league. In the Rockets case they have a different rookie development program so its a little harder to tell with their young players.

I think if the Rockets had to pick one that they would like to succeed more than the other it would have to be D-Mo since his skill set & size presents them a much more valuable tool as a 4/5 who can play alongside Dwight as a stretch 4, and also backup Dwight (very Bosh-like).

However if they had to bank on one player making it over another it would be Jones based on his production last year as a top 5 contributor on a 50+ win team. He's got the better resume thus far & is the better bet to make.

However the front office would love to hit a home run with D-Mo. That's a home run if he works out, but much less likely of a bet.

    TJ better right now

    DMo has the higher ceiling

Ideally keep the two and you could have your future PF-C starting line up.

Both are garbage currently, especially for our team. T-Jones has absolutely no concept of defense, boxing out, and proper rebounding. D-Mo is just a scrub until his game translates to the NBA level and seems to enjoy picking up r****ded fouls. NEITHER are great for spacing on our team. D-Mo does give more effort though.

Is this a serious question? Did y'all even watch last season?

    T. Jones is way better than D. Mo.

    D. Mo isn't good defensively, and is supposedly known for his offense. How many wide open looks did he airball?

    T. Jones is better, there really isn't an argument. Summer Leauge and NBA are two totally different deals.

I remember when D-Mo started one game, played a crap load of minutes, and only scored 3 points. T Jones is better hands down.

You can really tell a lot from one game, I will have to remember that the next time I watch the NBA.
