I dont care how the game is played. As long as this it is a competive finals, I see this thing going 7 games. Any game 7 in any sport is something to watch. So I'm diggin this series. go Nets go!

The refs give T's too easy. Did you see the one Willis got when Mutombo pointed at him, that was bs, Willis did nothing.

I saw it, it was a real nice move but he got tunnel vision with the basket. He had two open players right behind him but still forced the shot, he does that alot. Ill still give him props though, him, Speedy and Kevin were the only ones who played.

This is officially the "who sucks less" series. Both teams are playing terrible basketball. It's repulsive. This is the worst NBA finals ever by far. The shooting percentages are laughable.

It looks like 2 preseason teams trying to get ready for the regular season.

DavidS, please tell me you find this series uglier than 94.

77-76, good lord. i watched only the last 3:45 (there was a no-hitter on tv ya know) and i saw enough bricks for a half. jkidd, wanna hit a clutch shot, nah. timmay, nah. kmart wanna hit a free throw? nah. damn.

although that marc stein article is wrong, ginobili's 3 wasn't an airball, it did graze the front of the rim...barely. fugly game.

I missed most of last game. But considering that I have the Rockets vs Knicks on tape, I can say that this series is more entertaining. Not because todays game wasn't low scoring, but because the Spurs can score if they want to. It's the Nets that have the problem. They need another scorer.

Wait until next game. The Spurs are just better.

And if the Spurs lose this series it's because they didn't come to play. It's their series to lose.

    Game 1
    New Jersey 89
    San Antonio 101
    Wed, Jun 4 - Final

    Game 2
    New Jersey 87
    San Antonio 85
    Fri, Jun 6 - Final

    Game 3
    San Antonio 84
    New Jersey 79
    Sun, Jun 8 - Final

    Game 4
    San Antonio 76
    New Jersey 77
    Wed, Jun 11 - Final
    Series tied 2-2

This series is more entertaining than 94?

This series makes 94 look like a track meet.

-Believe me, if you'd have the misfortune of having to watch last night's game, you'd agree. The Spurs shot TWENTY EIGHT percent.

-The ratings are by far the worst so far in NBA history. With the NBA's luck, this is going 7 and by then we may be looking at games in the 60's!

Kornhiser said on PTI yesterday,"It's clear that the Spurs aren't the best team in the West." I'd say that reflects a consensus view after watching the Spurs play this series (throughout the playoffs, really).

Compare the run the Nets are having to the four-game blowout last year. Have the Nets really improved that much? I don't think so. They have improved some, but the main difference is that their opponent is much, much weaker.

Because of injuries. The Kings lost Webber and the Lakers lost Fox.

I thought I had wanted to see a grudgematch and see this Finals go 7 games but the way that things are going....now i wish the Mavs would have went to the Finals and blow out the Nets and sweep in 4....:(

The Lakers got blown out at home because they lost a role player?

yes, the lakers lost because they were sorely missing the centerpiec of their team: rick fox.

the spurs proved that they were better in the west this year. maybe things wouldve been different with chris webber not hurt, but well never know. i think the only reason the nets are really stretching this series is because they match up well with san antonio. any other west powerhouse would kill them.

that said, im enjoying this 2-2 series so far way more then i liked the 4-0, 4-1 series of the last two years. even if its a little boring, at least the games are close.

These teams are an embarrassment to their ABA roots. Dr. J and the Iceman wouldn't be playing 77-76 games.
Any chance they'll cut this series short and just let the Game 5 winner have the trophy?

The Lakers bench was run thin. They lost Rick Fox, and Devon George was playing with a battered ankle. That's two key players lost from their already thin rotation. It's the managements fault for not providing a deeper team, but were the Lakers in full strength with a healthy lineup, they'd of probably won. While I was just as glad to see the Lakers dethroned, this series is making me wish just as much that they were in the Finals so that there would atleast be a reason to watch the Finals, either loving or hating the Lakers. I don't normally listen to Rome, but he made a good point when saying that unless your a Spurs fan or a Nets fan, it's hard to root for either team, because there's no villain or hero. There's no controversy. Admit it, were the Lakers in the finals, there would be atleast 10 new threads talking about the

a)phantom fouls going against the Nets
b)how quick the Finals went by because of a sweep
c)how much Kobe sucks/rocks in comparison to MJ
d)how Shaq can only steamroll over people and sucks and last but not least...

e)new threads not involving the Finals because the series would of already ended. :D

*bada-bum* Thankyou folks I'll be here all night.

I'm not even a Laker fan but ya gotta admit from a business standpoint the NBA and all it's promoters would be raking in the money were a team that you could love/hate on t.v, oppose to these two teams in this poorly played series. Forget the ugly ball, and realize an exciting team to watch like the Kings or Dallas would create more of a profit then the Spurs now.
