Even if Phoenix are considering trading Dragic, wouldn't this whole impasse with Bledsoe need to come to an end first?

My theory is correct! I just left out Ish!

In 2010-11 - signed with the Rockets
In 2010-11 - traded to Memphis
In 2014-15 - Morey brought him BACK!

So the next step is obviously, Morey tries to bring back Dragic and as DREAM ON! pointed out Rockets trade Beverly sometime in the future. ;)

I don't know about championship caliber but Beverley is a huge asset to this team, as presently constructed. For example, his OffRtg of 110.9 (via nba.com) is the highest of the five Rocket starters. His DefRtg of 101.8 via nba.com is also the best (lowest) of any Rocket starter. His NetRtg of +9.1 ppg (via nba, com) is also the highest of any Rocket starter. In fact, that +9.1 NetRtg ranks 3rd among starting PGs in the entire league; only CP3 and Steph Curry do it better. The Rockets are better by +9.1 ppg with Beverley on the floor (normalized to 100 possessions). Lets look at his Raw Plus Minus (+/-) of +5.3 ppg via nba.com (we average +5.3 ppg more when Beverley is on the floor). That 5.3 ppg is second best on the team; only Harden's +5.6 ppg is better. Beverley's ORPM of +2.97 ranks 12th among the 83 PGs in the league (that's very good); top ten among the starting PGs in the league (see espn.go.com). Not surprisingly, that ORPM of +2.97 is also second best on this team; only Harden's 5.97 is better. Beverley's DRPM of +1.29 ranks 6th among the 83 PGs in the league; that's elite among PGs (espn.go.com), and is also second best among the Rocket starters; only Dwight's +4.91 is better. Beverley's Total RPM of +4.26 is 5th best among the 83 PGs in the league (espn.go.com), and, higher than any other Rocket, including Harden (+3.13) and Dwight (+4.25). See http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/RPM/position/1. Beverley's Wins Above Replacement (WAR) of +7.26 ranks 9th among the 83 PGs in the league (espn.go.com). Let's examine his xRAPM via http://stats-for-the-nba.appspot.com/teams/HOU.html. Beverley xRAPM (Off) of +3.28 is 2nd best on the team, with only Harden's +6.3 better. Beverley's xRAPM (Def) is also 2nd best on the team; second to Dwight's +4.69. Did you know that Beverley's overall xRAPM of +3.36 is second best on the team; only Harden's +3.48 is better. Whether these stats are indicative of championship caliber, I don't know (you may be right) but as a Rocket, he is indispensable. This is confirmed by the numerous first and second placements reflected in the team oriented statistics such as RPM and xRAPM.

Yes, his PER (12.4), TS% of 54.4%, eFG% of 50.9%, FG% of 41.4%, 3ptFG% of 36.1%, RPG of 3.5, Ast/TO ratio of 2:1, and Win Share of 4.2 games are middle of the pack. Without a database, I can't speak to his playmaking abilities but he must be doing something right because he has a huge impact on the outcome of games. I'm not really a Beverley fan, but, I trust the stats, because stats help us to look at players objectively; more so than the naked eye.

i like dragic a lot. but he is a ball dominant player like lin, it will be the same chemistry mix going on. IMO we need a good floor general like rondo to get the ball outta haden's hands.

Actually, it would be different. With Parsons out, the Rockets lost a playmaker. So when Dwight and Harden got denied the ball, Parsons would be the third option to make something happen. He wasn't the best ball handler, but he had a knack for getting to the basket (pump fakes usually did the trick). Ariza can shot, but he is a pretty bad playmaker. His game is best suited with other playmakers creating open shots for him. Same with Bev.

If we add someone like Dragic, he could be the other playmaker this team sorely needs. He can also knock down the three, and he gives you lineup flexibility with his ability to play both guard positions.

Ish Smith was a good signing. His greatest strength is using craftiness to get to the basket. He's a decent decision maker also. He might not have blow-up night potential like Lin, but he will give you decent contribution consistently.

I wonder if we could get Schroeder from the Hawks. His shot looks better right now than last year and he's got a knack for getting in the paint.

Bring the Dragon hell no to all things Bledsoe. That fool turned down 12 per and wanting nothing but max. Those knees are as bad as Wade if not worse and has yet to play a full season.

Actually Dragic is a pretty good passer and can set up Harden and Ariza nicely.

Ish Smith's Ast/TOV ratio is 2.9 [2013-2014 Per Game Stats via basketball-reference.com]. That's pretty good, better than Beverley (2.25) and Lin (1.64); so Ish takes care of the ball and, yes, seems to make good decisions with it. He averages only 14.2 MPG but still manages 2.6 APG and 1.8 RPG. He is not a good shooter though, averaging only 3.7PPG and 4.0 FGA per game; while posting a 42.3 FG%, a 56.4% FT%, and a 4.3% 3ptFG%. That 56.4 FT% means he can't be on the floor at the end of close games. His 3ptFG% is a bit misleading as he only attempted twenty-three 3ptFGA last season and connected on only one of them. His 2ptFG% is slightly better at 45.7%. But he is a good defender; his xRAPM (Def) is +0.59 and his DefRtg at nba.com is 101.8 (pretty good). By comparison, Beverley's DefRtg via nba.com is also 101.8 but Beverley's xRAPM (Def) is +1.08 (elite for a PG). And Beverley's xRAPM (Off) and Total xRAPM are first rate at +3.28 and +4.36, respectively. Beverley is indispensable to this Rocket team on both ends of the floor. Ish Smith xRAPM (Off) and Total xRAPM are -3.08 and -2.49, respectively (he disrupted the offensive flow at Phoenix). And his Total xRAPM of -2.49 reflects that, since is made possible by a huge negative xRAPM (Off) of -3.08. The Good: Ish takes care of the basketball and is a good defender. The Bad: he can't help us on offense, doesn't shoot well, and can't hit the open three.
    ---xRAPM data taken from http://stats-for-the-nba.appspot.com/teams/PHO.html.

You're right. It's not and I'm sorry. But on a serious note, he spent so much time away from the team because of it that I could see it being a factor in him not getting another gig.

Are you saying that Rondo is not a ball dominant player?

    Exactly.

Beverly as a 2nd year starter will be much better than last season.

That's going to be all good for the Rockets.

Why do people assume Beverley will be better this season? He hasn't looked the same since he jacked up his knee.
