I just saying that Francis and Cat are as good if not better than Houston and Spree. SO if JVG had success with Houston and Spree, then he should have no problem with Francis and Cat.

Houston Infidels! How dare they suggest anyone or anything in Houston equal to that found in NYC. Curse their mustaches.

What do you think I meant? That Houston and Spree are as good as Francis and Mobley?

Please. I'm not a biased NY fan like some people think.

    Well, I tell ya.

Cuttino has his entire family in Houston. He's a great guy.

If he can be kept to 34 mpg.

If he can be utilized in a way that incorporates PASSING the ball.

So he won't ge worn out or injured, he'll have energy for defense, and he'll have a longer career.

I have thought of trading Cuttino, yes, to get back a PG/SG who nets at least 5 apg. Cuttino might not reach that, but he can be taught; he got waaaay too much leeway with Rudy.

Now, as for Eddie, sorry ya'll. If we can upgrade at the 4, use Eddie to do so. EG would be better in the East. No more of this "we'll live to regret trading him." No; there's better out there at the 4.

Sign me up. The ISO ball we've been subjected to the last few years had more to do with coaching (or lack there of) than Cat or Stevie IMO.

Let's see what JVG can get from this team as is.

Uh...Francis and Mobley is is a lot more than equal to Sree' and Houston. Francis alone makes them better and Mobley is very similar to Houston. Allan is a better shooter, but both are kinda one-demensional, good scorers, with Cat being a better defender I think.

    Didn't ya'll read MacBeth's novel/post???

All of our players can be fully utilized under a brand new coaching scheme. This includes players like Cat, Tmo, and GRIFF.

As far as I'm concerned, all those positive feelings we had when we first drafted Griff, Tmo, etc should be rejuvinated since the arrival of JVG.

    A new era indeed.

I hope so, Rox Box. Griff' has really, really dissapointed me so far....as I'm sure, I'm not the only one who feels the same way.

I think Griff' is the biggest WIld Card. Yao and Stevie willd o their things. Cat should hone is game in and be a better OVERALL player under Van Gundy and Posey pretty mcuh can do much of what he did this past season, improving on shooting. But we need, desperately, help @ the PF spot. I'm not convinced that Griff is the answer, but hopefully Van Gundy's system can help the kid tremendously.

A Chinese reporter met Cat at one WNBA game a few days ago in Houston. He reported that Cat was in great spirit. Cat said Yao called him and other teammates in China. He wished Yao best.

I love it. We need to read the Chinese Press to get complete coverage of the Rockets!!!!

Remember that in his Golden State days, Spree was known as an explosive-but-undisciplined offensive player ... Spree started his first season under VG with the Knicks as the 6th man before graduating to a starting role. I think VG had a big part in the way Spree evolved into a better all-around player. And Cuttino already has better offensive fundamentals than Spree (better handle, better shot) ... I'm hoping Van Gundy can help shape Cat's career as well.

Its quite possible that VG was saying it so as not to make any waves... it doesn't necessarily mean one thing or another. If VG has intentions to trade Cuttino, I doubt he wouldn't have included Cat in his "core" comment.

Exactly!! He hasn't had a chance to look at the tapes yet! Give him time and he will find all the Guard Problems. Trade or not, the Guards should be ready for a remake of their Mind Set!

I think Van Gundy sees a lot of similarities between Cuttino and one of Van Gundy's absolute favorite players John Starks. A guy who loves the game plays with fire and does indeed take miserable shots at time, but has a lot of passion for the game. I do think that Cuttino should go for the good of the Rockets. But I can see why Van Gundy may be enamored with Cuttino. Hopefully he will get the best out of him if he keeps him.

    By the way..they interviewed Cat.

And he said that it was a good fit and JVG is a really really good coach.

And he knows whenever something goes down...or a fight occurs...he knows that JVG will back him up.

    Pretty funny guy Cat!
