Its on the Empower America site. Jack Kemp has a very good analysis posted now. http://www.empoweramerica.org/stories/storyReader$532 Edit..this will work
He is talking about the period between 1948 and 1967. During that time the Palestinians were part of Jordan. Then Arab countries attacked Israel and lost the West Bank, Gaza, etc.
If i don't agree with the actions of Israel as a Nation, does that make me anti-semetic? If so, why? I tend to think not, but I see so many accusations of people being anti-semetic and I don't really think those people are against their religion. Why is it that Israel is the only (or is it?) nation that gets treated like a religion. People who are anti-America are never considered anti-Christian. Inquiring minds want to know!
This doesn't make you an anti-Semite. Not agreeing with a country's actions doesn't mean you hate Judaism. So no worries on that one . If so, why? I tend to think not, but I see so many accusations of people being anti-semetic and I don't really think those people are against their religion. In the US there is a strong, strong, strong backing of the Zionist movement. I fully support the idea of a Jewish homeland, where other religions are allowed to live peacefully. Only an immature, uneducated person would consider you anti-semitic for 1. not agreeing with the way Israel deals with the Palestinians or 2. not agreeing with the ideals of Zionism. Why is it that Israel is the only (or is it?) nation that gets treated like a religion. Well, since the Jews control the media, I guess you just hear about it more. just kidding.... The main industry of Israel, pre-intifada, was tourism. It is a country that is known for its religious significance for many religions. So, if you put 2 and 2 together, the most widely known religious country with mostly Jews in it, is going to get that kind of attention. People who are anti-America are never considered anti-Christian. Nope, they are just considered French. Inquiring minds want to know! Hopefully I helped ya out a bit.
1. Well America did more than that. Of course Henry Ford was a big Nazi sympathizer. With every Ford automobile a person in America purchased they came with two free books. One was the Jewish Peril, and the other was an anti-semitic book that he himself wrote. As part of a training I was involved in, we got to speak with a holocaust survivor. He mentioned that the Holocaust did not begin with the Nazis putting Jews on trains, or confining them to ghettos or sending them to the gas chambers. He said the Holocaust began with words. That among other things helped create the climate that made the holocaust possible, and that included the U.S.
the huge influx of chinese, turkish, eastern european, and african immigrants into europe the last decade has spurred a HUGE increase in the friction between ethnic groups. here in the UK, what used to be the daily swipes at the "Asians" (Indians) and "Pakis", and sometimes those Japanese tourists, now has grown far more serious. increasing immigration naturally leads to protectionist nationalism. and yet it seems to be only the rise of the most extreme of this group, the ultra-nationalist neo-nazis, that alarms this author. rocketriver is right. racism all over europe is on the rise. as a byproduct of immigration, economic recession, european integration, etc. etc. i think this author is being woefully narrowminded in limiting his observations to jewish synagogues, etc. i'd challenge him to prove that instances of racism against jews in germany is 1/100 of that against turkish muslim immigrants in that country, or instances of anti-semitism is 1/1000 of racism against Chinese immigrants here in the UK. the only reason i can think of for the rise of anti-semitism (vs. before) is that fact that there are just plain so many muslims fresh off the boat in Europe nowadays. and it ain't anything new that they hate the jews. blaming it on "european civilisation" just proves he hasn't been to his local supermarket in a while...
What is your point? What makes Anti-Semitism such a greater evil that regular ole racism. Rocket River
He's just pointing out that anti-Semitism does appear to be on the rise in Europe. No one in this thread, that I recall, has said that anti-Semitism is worse than "regular ole racism". They're both equally atrocious.
no it is not about the thread . . but in general Hatred of Jewish folx is so SPECIAL that it has it's own name ANTISEMITISM. . . . I just wonder why not just say RACISM maybe we should have subcategories of racism for all groups YOU ARE A . . uhm. . . AntiAFAMIST!!! Rocket River I am joking
So, you're basically arguing semantics. No one on this board, that I've seen, has ever said that anti-Semitism is worse than racism.
I'm not arguing at all I'm just curious as to why racism against jewish people has a SPECIAL word dedicated to it. . . to me it is all the same simple racism Rocket River
Maybe because Jewish people are Semites. I'm pretty sure Jewish isn't a race, hence, it's not racism.
Bingo, although quite a few idiots in the press have recently come out to say that Judaism is a race rather than a religion. These people are 100% clueless.
hhhhmmmmmmm So the Jewish people in isreal are basically the cousin of the people they fighting around them .. .. So the Muslims are Anti-christites? and 'we' are anti-Islamites Rocket River
And as soon as we all wake up and realize that we are members of one race, the world will be a better place. Once we all wake up and realize that there is no ONE "right" way to express your faith in a higher power, world peace will be achievable.
