He looked lost in SL. Plus they have Lin and Nash. Makes sense if they are keeping Henry and potentially Kelly.
It really is a no risk move to pick him up off waivers. The question is whether another team with a higher waiver priority will pick him up first. I doubt we can get him.
Plays no defense (Meeks basically had to cover for him), slow as hell, can only drive left, shot release is so low he'll only shoot if defender gives him 4 feet of space He's got one elite skill and that's passing. He's basically Rubio if Rubio was slow as **** and couldn't play D
I'd waaaaay rather have him on the team than Ish The Dish. Same level as a playmaker and for a guy who "can't shoot" he shot lights out (40%) from deep after joining LA.
Whoa whoa whoa. Let's not make another mistake and overpay for another PG that looked great because of D'Antoni's system.
Some stats from last season: "Marshall finished 10th in the NBA in total assists last season, despite playing just 54 games, and his 8.8 per-game average would have tied him for second in the league if he'd played enough to qualify. But Marshall was also extremely unproductive, posting a sky-high 25.6 turnover rate and a putrid 49.4 true shooting percentage, while averaging just one free-throw attempt per game." Dude doesn't get to the line -- at all. But if he keeps the 3 point shot going the spacing is more valuable than what Ish Smith would give us offensively, and he won't be asked to do as much on this team.
Rubio is a GOOD defender, and is pretty quick. Marshall is a great passer and shooter, he is slow and isn't a good defender.
