If Elton Brand, wants a great place to play he should sign the MLE. He not only will be in the playoffs this season if he signs with the Rockets, he could help them get to the finals the year after next. Glen Rice's contract is up so they could gather enought money to resign him. We might lose James Posey, so i can see LES ALEXANDER to wine and dine Brand, and promise him a nice cut of the pie for a great contract next year. Griffin and Taylor will never be a Brand. I like to see Griffin stay and maybe trading Maurice Taylor for a decent backup pointguard.
There are also alot of other teams that can offer him not only the MLE, but more. Brand isn't likely to be here unless a trade is involved.
He wouldn't fit in the spurs mix, hes fits perfect here cause there is no dominent PF here. Tim Duncan is not a good C, and neither is Brand. Thats why they want to sign Jermaine O'Neal cause he can play the C.
he'd probably get more touches if he went to the spurs. Between Yao and Steve's touches, there won't be any left for Brand.
Brand is a RESTRICTED FA which means if a team signs Brand to the MLE then the Clippers can match it and Brand is stuck in LA. Brand can't just up and leave the Clippers this year. He can next year if he signs the one year tender offer that Kandi did this year. Then he would be an UN-restricted FA. The Clippers either move Brand in a sign and trade this off season (to get something in return) or he signs the one year tender offer and leaves the team for nothing. I don't see any way Brand stays since the team is not going to change it's stripes and start signing its players to long term big money deals and decide it wants to start winning.
Tim Duncan is not a good center??? But Jermain O'neal is? Which one is the taller, bigger player and which one is the 2 time MVP? I forgot. Duncan is a 7 foot back to the basket "center". Regardless of what the media wants to call him. He is only a Forward for NBA All Star voting purposes. O'neal is a PF with Brad Miller playing center.
No Chance in hell i would give Steve for Elton then again im not C-Dawson or Les but still good god, I like Elton alot but he is a peice and Steve is Huge chunk of the Foundation that we need, IMO a Steve-Yao foundation is a stronger combination than a Elton-Yao foundation, but i would love to have Brand as a peice in additon to Yao and Steve.

I wish man, but LA would just match the Rockets offer. Anyway last I heard the Clippers are going to lock Brand and Odom to long term deals. Maybe the Clippers are finally going to be a "real" franchise.
Elton Brand for the MCE would be good. You know what eles is good.....smoking dope. No way in Hades would Brand EVER sign for the MCE. He will just accept LA's one year tender and hope they trade him somewhere nice.
Maybe they should, they could be pretty good in few years, with the right players, Odom and Brand are promising Forwards for the years. I'd like to see the Rockets get a big name, so they could attach alot of attention around the league. It would be nice to see a another big name here besides Ming/Francis. Rockets need a SuperStar here like Gary Payton.
