My thoughts exactly. If Morey were to do something like this, I think there's at least a possibility that we could nab Bledsoe without Phoenix matching, especially with as many have pointed out, their stable of guards that they already have. Letting go of Bledsoe, while hurtful, would not be the end-all-be-all for Phoenix.
No, Dragic/Bledsoe is the core of that team, it doesn't make any sense to let one of them go, just because you have a slew of lesser talent at the position on the team. You trade the lesser talent if anything. And on the other point, Bledsoe would never accept a two year deal. He made very little so far in his career, and he has all the initiative to sign a large long-term deal that would provide his post NBA security, especially with his style of play and his injury history. Every player in the league is one serious injury away from retirement, and if you haven't secure your future yet, you'll take do it the first chance you get.
Something is going on in PHX. They can swear up and down that they won't trade one of their PGs all they want, but things just look funky. How many minutes can you really get out of 3 players 6'3'' and under, including 5'9'' Thomas? Also, Dragic can opt out after this season. Will he want to play with two other small guards? Will PHX be able to keep him on an expensive contract that he will attract in the market?
I would think a lot, but not nearly as much as he should be, in my opinion, since he has that opt-out. A team is getting him for one season and then the odds are excellent that they'll have to worry about resigning him. I wish we could get him.
What about Dragic for the NOP pick + Jones (using either the TPE or non-guaranteed $ to eat his salary)?
You know what he means. Bledsoe at max or Dragic (assuming he signs for around 15 million next offseason) and Ariza for 23 million is much better then Bosh and Parsons for 35 million. Bledsoe Harden Ariza Howard Very very good team, just add a good PF and your a contender.
It depends on how you’re looking at it. If you and others are concerned about how much the Rockets are paying, then yes it’s cheaper to pay Ariza and possibly Bledsoe and still have a great team. But $12mil more is nothing when you’re talking about re-signing and signing two All-Star caliber players increasing the Rockets chances of winning a title. Which is all that matters. Rockets would have been a “much better team” with Bosh and Parsons.

Didn't Phoenix just draft 14 players this year? And haven't they had their fill of Rockets PF's that don't rebound? They're either tired of these things or cant get enough of them.
Whoever pays Bledsoe the MAX will regret it big time, and both the Phoenix front office and medical department know that IMO. A medically risky 6'1 shooting guard heavily reliant on athleticism for literally everything he does. They're being smart. They are probably asking him to get an offer from the market, while also considering good trade offers. These guys can end up much improved by the end of this summer.
http://arizonasports.com/41/1750529/Eric-Bledsoes-waiting-game-continues Eric Bledsoe's waiting game continues The silence is deafening. The LeBron James domino fell Friday morning. Chris Bosh, Luol Deng and Carmelo Anthony have signed. Various sign-and-trades have been completed. Restricted free agents have signed offers and moved to different teams. Eric Bledsoe waits. He doesn't wait for a team to want him. Almost every team in the NBA wants him. He waits for someone to reach his price. No one is interested in paying it. Either Eric Bledsoe has completely over-valued.......

Miami is closer to the cap than that if not slightly over: Code: Dwyane Wade $15,000,000 Luol Deng $9,714,461 Josh McRoberts $5,305,000 Mario Chalmers $4,000,000 Danny Granger $2,077,000 Norris Cole $2,038,206 Justin Hamilton $816,482 James Ennis $507,336 Chris Bosh * $20,644,400 Shabazz Napier * $1,032,200 Chris Andersen * $915,243 Bosh, Napier and Anderson are cap holds. Napier and Bosh are going to be signed but maybe not Anderson. That is about 62 million and only 11 roster spots.
