I think everything the Spurs do, we should match the offer and add one million dollars.

he is an offensive coaching genius and gets the best out of his players. he always puts them in a position to succeed and I think he is going to a very solid coach. I would love if we were able to get a coach of his caliber, but more of a defensive minded coach such as Lionell Hollins.

I hope Messina is only sticking around long enough to gain experience. The Lakers will be sure to pay him when he wants a HC gig

Better than any **coach move I have seen in *recent memory.

*By recent memory, I mean last two days.
** I have no clue as to who he is beyond a google search.

I'm disappointing the Rockets couldn't get him (did they make an offer at least?), but the Spurs were likely the best fit for him with their large international recruiting and he can learn from the best coach in the NBA.

phck...i have been telling yall that this guy is a great coach...and these are reasons why the Spurs keep winning...winning organizations make winning decisions...I can see if the Spurs win a title this year, Pop/Duncan and Manu call it quits

I think this is just Messina's people trying to drum up interest for another HC job in Europe. No way he turns down the money and prestige from coaching one of the Euro powerhouses if that's an available option.

Messin'a current club CSKA is looking to hire Blatt away from Maccabi.

IMO, even these Blatt to NBA rumors are just agents gaming teams so the Euro teams will offer more.

that is a very real possibility, but I believe he has a genuine interest in coming over to the NBA. He would likely look for a position as a lead assistant and would honestly be a great fit for nearly every team. Hopefully someone takes a chance on him and people are able to see just how good of a coach he really is.
