http://news.yahoo.com/ap-interview-bosh-excited-challenge-193910253--spt.html Bosh talks about Rox and his decision to stay in Miami
If he lived in a northern clime he'd be like Granny from those old Warner Bros. cartoons (Tweety and Sylvester), who's so rich she uses stacks of $20 bills as "firewood" whenever the flames in the fireplace die down.
The new challenge is really going to pick when he's in the last few years and pulling down $25 million at age 35 for a team whose medium term prospects are utterly bereft of any talent, currently. I don't fault Bosh for taking the money and staying home, though I doubt Miami's going to be his last NBA stop; he'll probably head out in a salary dump at the end unless he retires first. Once again, the onus here is on MIami for overpaying just to stay on the fringe of the game rather than endure the pain, Hinkie style, rather than Bosh for grabbing the cash.
I doubt it. LeBron really needed help this year and he couldn't do it. 40 year old Duncan demolished him. I'll predict 18 and 7.
I really hope it was him just loving Miami and his family being comfortable in the city. That's easy to respect. However if he stayed to make an 20 million (40 guaranteed) that's something I don't understand.
Bosh prefers the waterfront property, the glamor of miami and the money over winning. So why would you want this guy on your team?
Neither of those things have anything to do with Chris Bosh putting up good offensive stats. People have such short memories, they forget what Bosh was like before he sacrificed his stats for LeBron. And at age 31, it's not like he's old. Didn't Bosh average like 24/11 in all the games LeBron has missed over the past 4 years? He'll have no trouble averaging 20/10 as the #1 option in Miami. His efficiency will go waaay down, but his stats will go through the roof. Especially since Wade will most likely miss a lot of games I predict 22/9 for Bosh if Miami finishes as one of the upper seeds in the East, or 24/11 if Miami is flirting with the lottery.
Do to know how it's a new challenge.. He had the same challenge in Toronto when he was a better player. He's gonna put up numbers for a #5-8 eastern conf team.. Wade is gonna regress even more esp with more demand of him on both offense and defense.. Deng can help but he can't carry a team. Bird man will be worse, Napier looks awful, battier gone, Allen gone, rahshard maybe gone.. He took the money which is fine and all but don't pretend there are other reasons.
His new challenge is to constantly explain why he turned down similar money from Houston to play for a lottery bound heat team. Oh wait, they are in the East, so maybe an eight seed east team.
Because the last team that wanted him on their team went to 4 straight finals and won 2 titles and won hundreds of games?
It's a fair question. If he's all about the money and the Miami lifestyle, would he really have given it his all in H-Town and earned that 20+ mil a season? At least with Parsons, I assume he would've gone out there and tried to earn that 15 mil. Then again, we just signed Ariza who has a reputation for trying harder in contract years, so who knows what we're in store for?
I don't think he's all about the Miami lifestyle. I dog the guy a lot, but that's unfair. If he was all about it, he wouldn't have even taken the Rocket's calls. Like I said about the people attacked Melo, if Bosh doesn't see himself happy here it's worthless having him here. Sure, I'm still mad he didn't pick us, but to a certain extent I can see why loyalty to a friend, the organization, and the woman you love could be achieved by staying in Miami. Sometimes that's bigger than anything basketball, heck, it's why LeBron went home. I'm still miffed, but I understand.
