I would like to make just one correction...the biggest difference IMO is that Manu and Parker each made what they are worth. The spurs have done very similar things to what the rockets just did with parsons...George Hill is the first that comes to mind. They allowed him to move on bc his price was too high. 15 million for parsons is simply just too high.

What Morey did had sound reasoning and has worked in our favor in the past in regards to making parsons a restricted free agent. However, you can not always predict the actions of others, in this case... Pubes.

In hindsight, it turned out to be a grand místake. Maybe better research could have been done to better predict this outcome and prevented parsons from leaving. We may never know.

Not matching And replacing his production at half the price also sounds like a good decision because it leaves the door open for improvement. The only way this backfires again is if parsons turns out to be second coming of James harden and outplays his max contract. Time will tell.

Considering you just pulled a bunch of make believe numbers out of your ass, do you really expect anyone to take you seriously?

I think letting Parson go one year earlier was a better option for us then waiting for him to become unrestricted.

I truly think if it wasnt for the trade kicker, Morey will match parson's 15 mills a year and then trade him for maybe Love. Either situation will be worth as a one year rental.

Parsons' agent knew this very well and that is why he place the trade kicker into parson's contract. This will lock him into the next team and he be stuck there for the whole duration of the contract. This could back fired on the Mavs if parson couldnt live up to the value of his new contract.

With the money we are matching for parson (if we did), we could of gotten two decent players instead. Arisa is a serviceable SF with defense and 3 pters, which is what we really need to pair up with Harden and Howard. People need to understand that we are building this team around Howard and Harden and not howard, harden, and parson. Obiously, if we have a true proven 3rd star then it would be a different case all together.

The Summer isnt over yet and we still have until Feb for the trade deadline. I have faith in Morey that he will get this team back up and running.

I totally agree with letting CP25 walk, no not never $15 mln. No repeat of the the Jlin and Asik overvalued contracts. We killed him for making those deals except for LOF's!!

I don't think Morey understands the time it takes to build a contender and the chemistry required. I get the statistical piece of his analysis, however, he fails to understand the human element which makes up a person/player.

My firm belief is that we will NEVER win a championship until he decides he has his Big 3 and leaves the team alone to grow through adversity. He's going to constantly change out parts, which then have to regrow into a team.

So DM, get your 3rd elite player and let this team grow!!

Couldn't Morey have taken a look at what FA were gonna be available for this year and taken a look at how much money teams would have?

He would have seen teams had money to spend and there was a huge drop off from the Melo's and Bosh's to the Hayword's and Parson's.

    That is his job, isn't?

It would have made making the decision of picking up the option easier and then determining how much you want to offer but at least you would have had Parson's one year longer at under a mil before losing him for nothing (if a SnT couldn't be had)

He did the right thing not matching Parsons offer, but made a huge mistake of letting Parsons out one year early. The Rockets basically gave Parsons away for nothing, and plus a year of his service at < 1M.

He gambled everything on Bosh signing with the Rockets, and Parsons getting a "reasonable offers", probably ~$10mil/per, but he lost his bet, and that is his FAULT.
