Seriously does Chandler not remember that the Mavs told Dirk that they were going to put his deal on hold so they could get a big free agent? Dirk didn't say anything about it or act like a diva.

Also Cuban broke up his title team because of financial flexibility; he didn't pay Tyson Chandler and he bolted to New York

at least now this answers my question of whether or not he would be booed when he comes back. It's clear now.

I knew Chandler didn't want to come back. Pretty sure we knew all along he was douchey but HE WAS OUR DOUCHE so that made it ok. Writing was on the wall. Dude went all Hollywood on us. Hired Dan Fegan. Pushing Morey to pay him. Don't think for a second him and Fegan didn't put loads of pressure on Morey to let him out of that team option. Morey either strongly suspected or was flat out told by Fegan that his client wouldn walk if he became a UFA. His only chance to hang on to him was as a RFA.

But Chandler had bigger dreams than playing 3rd or 4th banana on the team that took a chance and drafted him. Like any delusional superstar, he wants to be in the spotlight. He wants to be the face of the franchise, and that's what Dallas promised him once Dirk retires. Chandler wanted max money but he didn't want Houston to match. An agent doesn't push for the player option and trade kicker if he wants to go back to the Rockets. This 'being offended by the process' narrative is a hollow cover story to try and mask his deluded ego.

Well, so long dude. Way to show your true colors. You and your agent sure pulled a fast one on Morey. Too bad Daryl grossly miscalculated and lost his #1 trade asset. You know he wishes so badly he could have that last contract year back and flip him to Minny for Kevin Love. Epic freaking blunder.

    Is Chandler an idiot?
DALLAS DOESN'T VIEW YOU AS A PRIORITY YOU ARE A BACKUP PLAN.
They went after Melo first before they settled on you dumbass.

Jesus Christ, that money is going to make him say anything about Dallas, huh?
How dare he come out there and claim he was offended? This guy actually thinks he's a third star? That he's on the level of BOSH and MELO?
Ugh, he has lost a whole ton of respect from me ever since that Blazers series started.

There is a difference between taking the money and taking the money and then going on the largest sports website in the world to bash our organization.

Well ****. He could've signed for less :( or at least without the trade kicker and player option.

I like the guy. I want him to reach the level that he desires, because you know that he really wants to be one of the best in the game. I don't know if he has the talent, but a true hard worker with the right distribution of talents can get there. He needs to play defense again though

As long as we **** up the Mavs during the regular season or in some potential playoff series, I'll be happy.

Honestly, how i view it is if anyone were offered that good of a contract that they would not have turned it down. The only thing that is disappointing however, is the fact that he says "I meant no disrespect to the city of houston and the rockets are great and daryl is great and they drafted me and believed in me and they all have a special place in my heart" then goes on to say "mark cuban is the best owner in sports and carlisle is the best coach in the nba" which i find very disrespectful considering he had 3 great years under mchale and les alexander was good to him and he just in a split second forgot all that and has not even played a minute with dallas and already stated things that take time to come to the conclusion to..contradictive

Glad he got paid but let's be real here, that contract was designed to never be matched. Ever since he signed with Fegan nothing was the same.

Parsons was restricted. Logic dictates that DAL would go after an unrestricted FA like Melo first whether or not they prefer Parsons to Melo as a player if their opinion on these two guys are even close.

The difference is that Melo could be signed straight up, without having to worry about Houston matching an offer or alternatives (Ariza, Deng, Carter, etc.) being signed away during the 3 day matching period.

The Rockets did something similar in 2011-- went after unrestricted FA Nene while working on that vetoed trade for Pau Gasol. After these options didn't work out, Morey then went after Marc Gasol, a restricted FA. This doesn't necessarily means that Morey thought more of Nene than he did Marc Gasol. It was simply a matter of working under the rules in a logical fashion.
