If we get Ilyasova, I want Delfino to come with. He'd be a great backup to Ariza.

Yea, ok. Well we'd be a hell of a lot better then we are now.

    Beverley/Cannan/Johnson
    Harden/Ariza/Daniels
    Parsons/Ariza/Convington
    Ersan/Jones/Dmo
    Howard/Capela

We could've used our TPE's and S&T'd for Ariza and Ersan and probably kept our MLE or BAE. And then used that for a backup PG and/or Center the likes of Nelson, Okafor, or Oneal.

But yeah, we're in so much of a better situation now. If we dump everyone but Harden, Howard, and Ariza next offseason we'll have a whole 16 million to offer. And i'd bet LMA, Love, and Lebron would love to take paycuts to play for a gutted Rockets team that has less depth and talent then the 2013-14 Rockets did.

I know Ilyasova would spread the floor more, but is he a defensive upgrade over TJ at all? Just curious, haven't watched him enough to know.

Gimp the team? This team just lost 20lbs. of muscle.

And I heard him this morning. I'd still rather have Morey then most other GM's but there was a lot of bs talk. We won't have enough to offer a max contract to the big boys even withoit Parsons. And we damn sure aint land Lebron next year. That actually made me laugh.

We could've put together a damn good roster together rather easily but just decided not to. Is paying 20 million for Melo( even though he doesn't fit) a better move the getting Ariza and Ersan (players who'd fill needs) for 16 million? Of course not, but imo Les wanted the big name. The media won't give the buzz for Les to justify increasing ticket prices, ect. for role players. But a ball hogging Melo= bringing in the $. Imo that's the same motivation that brought in Lin instead of bringing back Dragic.

Don't be so naive, unless Morey pulls a major deal out his ass before the deadline, we're going to watch Howards prime vanish before our eyes. That is, if he doesn't out out and leave 1st.

Yes, but not by much. He looks pretty mediocre from the vids I've seen.

Even though he's taller his defense is worse than T. Jones smh. I'd rather get Monroe and he can spread the floor with mid range shooting

Yes he is a defensive upgrade if healthy. He lacks the natural physical defensive talent Jones has, but hustles a whole lot, is very active and knows where to be on the floor. He isn't even average one on one or having to make a quick lateral defensive switch. However, that is less of an issue with Howard and Ariza on the floor.

    Huh?

    Monroe is a poor defender...

Also Ersan is a far better floor spreader if he rebounds from last year... He shot over 40% from 3 for 3 of the last 4 years.

We need to get this guy. I have always liked his game. He has potential on offense and defense and would be a great complementary piece.

If he works out for us, Parsons will be a forgotten name.

I'm shocked. One bad year, that's all. Parsons at $15 is okay, but Ersan at $8 is too much?

Ersan would randomly rack up like 17-20 rebound games. Dude can drain. d is suspect, but so is everyone's. I'm down. Let's swap dmo and some young guys for him.

Thx, all. Nice to think having Ariza makes someone like Ilyasova a better fit than he might be otherwise.

Wut. Monroe is just as bad on defense and has no shot.

Helps create spacing for our offense, but is just as much of a scrub as TJ or any other PF on our rotation on the defensive end. Also has 3 more years on his deal, don't see Morey trading for a piece that ties up that much of the cap for that long; if that was the case, he would've just matched Parsons' offer sheet from Dallas.
