No way Monroe and Dwight can work together, absolutely no floor spacing. Would not want josh smith either, but salvaging at the defensive possibilities. Would only go for this if we can get him on the cheap...for taking on the contract
He's still good, but he and Drummond don't fit well together and the Pistons like Drummond more (for good reason, he's a beast). I'm not sure why he and Dwight would be an any better fit though, so I'm not really sure I'm buying this.
I'd like it if we can get him at the right price. Certainly not worth overpaying for or trading anybody of true value. If we can give him 8-9 million, he provides some depth and you know you're getting a 15/9 player. Defense is definitely a question mark though.
Monroe off the bench at Center running with our RGV snipers and Nick Johnson would probably make the playoffs in the East
Don't waste any sleep over thinking it. Ask yourself this, would Morey give up assets and pay him over 60 million? If the answer is "no" then it isn't happening. Monroe already turned down 60 million.
Hmmm... I could have sworn the issue was with Monroe and Smith... Monroe doesn't want to play with Smith and has stated that one of them has to go either he or Smith. The Pistons would love to keep both, but I don't think it's gong to happen. T_Man
We should do everything we can to get Monroe in Houston. He's a fantastic passer and one of the most coordinated big men in the NBA. He'd be great with our weapons.
His mid range game is only average, and he doesn't have 3pt range. Looks very effective in the low post
60 million by detroit. Detroit really sucks, as a city and team. Plus they have Monroe traped between Smith and Drummond with Jennings running the point. Totally bad situatiom for such a nice player. I bet he'd take 55-60 million to come play with a contender who has a complete hole at PF spot.
