Dude on left: Gonna miss all the jump pass turnovers and crazy fans Dude on right: Gonna miss all the 4th quarter disappearing acts
Don't worry, typical Morey move will be to watch both of them do better in better systems with better coaches, and then offer them MORE MONEY to come back to Houston again.
They will both make $15 million next season. It will be impossible for them to be worth more than that.
Beverley better learn how to spot up for open 3s and shoot floaters when the red sea parts... because with both Lin and Parsons gone, Harden's gonna be the only one capable of pulling defenders off of our little pitbull.
Chandler Parsons 2014 3Pt FG%: .370 Trevor Ariza 2014 3Pt FG%: .407 Chandler Parsons 2014 salary: $15M Trevor Ariza 2014 salary: $8.6M Compared to Parsons, Ariza's a better 3-point shooter (now) and a better defender. Parsons is better at other parts of his game, but nobody in their right mind would say he's TWICE the player Ariza is.
Counterpoint - Ariza has been fairly mediocre to awful every year leading up to this one in terms of shooting. I don't think it's unfair to say that this year, until proven otherwise, is an abberation in terms of 3pt %. Further, you got John Wall and Beal pulling guys off of you for open 3s. While the Rockets aren't bad at creating shots in the past, the loss of Parsons and Lin will hurt more than you think. Ariza is definitely a better defender. Nobody would mistake Parsons for anything but average in that category. I agree that Parsons isn't worth two Arizas, but when you have only 5 players on the court at once, you better be able to turn that extra 7M you save into upgrades. So far, we haven't seen that yet.
