Its not penny pinching, its about being economically sound. If you can get 80% of Parsons production for half the price, that makes sense. Even so,it gives the rockets a chance to add more depth and better players. Les has said he would pay lt for a star player, I don't think ariza or parson qualifies as a star player. The rockets can get dragic and ariza for the price of parsons. Doesn't that make a lot more sense?

I think we match Parsons and I think that's what they should do. It'll be very disappointing letting a valuable asset go for nothing. Parsons/Ariza could be great trade pieces down the line. I think you just have to match, especially when you'd be losing him to a Western Conference rival.

    1. You can't do that.
    2. You'd be banking on Trevor Ariza's health and durability which is dicey at best
    3. Chemistry really does matter.
    4. Dragic isn't a FA.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but I believe Parsons larger paycheck will give him an even more prominent leadership role on the team. He already had one, but now he's in the Harden range as far as cost. This could give him that added boost/confidence to make the next step as a player and a leader. We need to match CP25 tonight.

You guys are forgetting that the Suns originally drafted Dragic. Then when we traded AB for him and Dragic really upped his game, they traded us again to get him back. That franchise LOVES Dragic. They originally scouted him when he was a rookie and regretted trading him to us. They are not going to let him go.

I sucks that I was right, but you just cant pay max money to a "glue guy"/great role player. It's just not a thing you do if you believe in Money/Morey Ball.

It's true - Chandler doesn't do any one thing significantly better than anyone that would make him a precious commodity nor is he a unique combination of defense, playmaking, shooting, etc. I hate to see Parsons go, but I can't blame the Rockets for not matching.

...and for all the "Dwight's not happy now" people - remember it was Parsons who choose to sign a deal with the Mavs. He didn't have to enter a contract with Dallas if he really wanted to stay in Houston.
