Incorrect. The offer sheet defines the terms of Parson's contract and the only thing that can change is which team he's signed to...Houston or Dallas.
Ainge isn't going to deal Rondo for anything less than superstar level talent or tons of good assets. Rockets really do not have enough pieces to make a trade for Rondo feasible, post Parsons rfa status.
People are just tired of unrealistic scenarios being proposed when the impossibility of such moves has been discussed to death on this forum for a long time.
I don't think anything is out of the realm of possibility but getting Rondo or even Love at this point would be ridiculously hard. We have pretty much given up every asset we have except for the NOP first round pick, Jones, D-Mo, and our Euro Stashes. Even if we match Parsons we won't be able to trade him until January 15. Not sure 1 draft pick, Jones, D-Mo, and the euro stashes can get us either Rondo or Love. Morey would definitely have to think outside of the box in order to acquire either of them.
I believe around 4 first round pics, and expiring deals? I'm not 100% sure, it's been awhile. A past their prime Garnet and Pierce is a little bit of a different scenario than Rondo, in my opinion.
It's not arrogant to expect people to know some basics around here. Parsons signed an offer sheet, he's signed a contract with the Mavs. The only 2 things that can happen now is the Rockets can match it and keep him because he's a RESTRICTED FREE AGENT, or they can not match and his offer sheet is now a contract and he is a Mav.
I really don't understand how the Celtics can ask for much at all for Rondo. Offensively limited PG coming off big injuries. Seems like you'd get a couple of picks and a decent young prospect or two. But they seem to be asking for more than Minny is for Love. I just don't see how he's that valuable (and I guess nobody else does either since they aren't buying)
Jeez, could you guys go to cbafaq website or just read the forum before making irrational statements. I swear if these guys really followed the Rockets, they wouldn't be posting threads like these.
With all due respect to a past his prime John Lucas (who QB'ed the greatest Rockets team of all time) and E.T.,....Rondo would immediately become the best PG we've EVER had.
Look, just think about it this way; this site would be complete **** if everyone posted every single idea they have to a new thread. We would have to scroll through a hundred threads to find one with any substance. I mean you could have easily put this idea in the "random trade idea thread" and someone would have told you that it wouldn't work.
Bev Parsons NO Pick for Lebron+Wiggins? Cavs cant expect too much for Lebron he is only signed for two years and Wiggins has Zero pro experience.
What about starting harden at pg? Harden Ariza Chandler Jones Howard Re-sign Troy Daniels Sub Bev for Ariza, harden to sg. Sub Ariza for parsons Sub Troy Daniels for harden But if you want an offensive playmaker off the bench, Canaan might be that guy.
