    bahahaha.

Since when has terrorist-like behavior stopped Americans from, in the past, funding the Mujahideen, the Contras, and the Taliban---and nowadays funding Somali butcher warlords?

Terrorist is just a proxy for "anti-American interest", a lazy word to avoid debate around nuanced situations. A censure for proper discussion. A word used by those to flag their utter inability to accept hard-hitting facts.

Brutal behaviour isn't something America or Israel has receded from before---or indeed even now.

people need to stop using that word. Everybody is stuck in a web of s**t. And today's terrorist, can be tomorrow's friend---and vice versa with any of the great powers. People do f**ked up s**t. And some of it is funded by your tax dollars. Doesn't mean you should shut off your mind when it comes to the root causes of such abominable behaviour---or to see that there are political solutions that don't involve invading nations, blowing people up, or building intricate extrajudicial torture networks.

F Hamas, no country should have to deal with running into shelter every hour. I don't give a s**t about death numbers, they are firing rockets at civilian populations, if Israel didn't knock them out of the sky the deaths would be very high. Doesn't make one difference.

Hamas stops firing, Israel stops bombing, that simple.

anyone someone brings up the fact hamas fired rockets, they forget that they are DIY homemade tube cannons that barely do anything.

then they forget the whole situation, and forget that israel basically threw them out of their homeland.

then they forget israel decides to fire back with real weaponry.

sympathizing with israel really is a task in convenient forgetfulness

If Hamas had the opportunity they would not hesitate to slaughter every single person in the state of Israel.

Or do you honestly believe Islamic Fundamentalism is just exaggerated.

I'm with Israel 100 %. But I hope they will show restraint to not further escalate the situation. It's sad when innocent people get into the crossfire (although there are a lot of Hamas backers in Palestine, just like here on the forum).

    that's a ridiculous moral standard

Hamas encourages their own people dying. They intermix their rockets with the civilian population, even next to schools.

If someone starts firing rockets into your cities, of course you hit them back with disproportionate force. That's the only thing bullies respond to.

The Israelis go out of their way to warn civilians they are going to strike back at Hamas.

Amazing to read the morally bankrupt posters here drawing equivalence between an aggressor firing rockets into civilian populations with a response aimed at stopping those rocket attacks.

I know about this issue fairly well. It seems to have people who are either super against Israel, don't really give a damn either way, Pro-Israel, or lastly have a good outlook on both sides in this battle that seems to be never ending.

I look at this issue from both sides, like many of you fail to do and see that their is major issues on both sides. Palestinians mission in life seems to be one of hating Jews and Israel to all extent. They want Jewish people extinct like most of the Muslim world does. They need education, not brainwashing if we truly want change their. We need Israelis and Muslims to get together and talk to each, to see that the other is not actually that bad, and with a little bit of diligence and patience we might be able to realize peace is what should have happen years ago.

Now on the Israelis side, they just need to get rid of the settlements and try to educate more about finding ways to peace and all that good stuff. All of their focus now goes on protecting their little country with everything they got at all cost. Israel needs to find a better way to protect itself without having to go and kill innocent people.

To end, both sides have their faults, education and sitting down and talking to the other side as human beings somehow would be the only way to peace. Until then, be ready for this conflict to be ongoing for the foreseeable future.

I think both sides are wrong. People are blinded by their alliances to one side over the other. Its sad, because while people are dying both sides continue to argue on who is right, instead of what needs to be done so both sides can feel whole again. Both the Jews and Muslims care more about being right than doing what is right.

Israel cannot deescalate because of tension from the Islamic Middle East. Palestine cannot deescalate because of tension from Israel.

So the obvious answer is to just fire rockets at each other and blame the other when their citizens die. Both sides might as well fire rockets into their own citizens because the end result is the same. I have no sympathy for either government or ideology. Only sympathy for the dead and dismembered kids that show up on the internet every few months.
