I wish morey treated parsons like an asset. **** being loyal and trade him for rondo. **** being nice and make him play out the final year of his deal for 1 million. I dont care what he or his agent want or think he is worth. He doesnt deserve more. He just wanted out so bad because he had a good year and he wanted to get paid for it. Parsons would have had no choice since it was his contract year. Loyalty? Did nash retire even though he aged in dog years? No, he admits he sucks but that he wont retire because he wants the $9 million. He signed the contract and he earned that money. Lets say parsons gets injured or heavily regresses. He would opt into that third year because **** loyalty. All that talk is for the fans. We still have howard and harden.
Yeah, F them. F Melo, F Bron (even with the hometown BS) and F Bosh and his gf, Riley. F Dallas, F Blazers, F Jazz, F the lakers, F the clippers, f the whole league minus the Rockets of course
Staying put is a bit different. Melo stayed put plus took the most money. Bosh stayed put plus took the most money. LeBron went home. Who chose a new team over us?
How do you know what was McHale's instructions...??? And how do you know McHale's instructions were right...??? Was Harden supposed to be guarding Lillard...??? Ha...!!! Because if so Harden did the right thing by telling Parsons to get him. Parsons should have been on Lillard in the 1st place because everyone should have known he was going to shoot it. He's been doing that all year. So I disagree with you _ that's on McHale for not calling the correct defense.
Parson's route was too wide - Lillian busted him when he shot way back behind the line. Had Parson's route been closer to the arc, he would have blocked or altered that shot.
Every single important player except Lebron (special circumstances) signed with their original team. So no, there's nothing repulsive about the Rockets, they just lost to home court advantage.
From the buzz around here (Los Angeles), it seems that a lot of players thought he was kind of a clown and not very serious-minded. There might be something to it. Maybe Harden is perceived as someone who slacks off on defense. Deserved or not, having those 2 as your cornerstones might be a detriment. It's all probably overblown though, Bosh was most likely extremely close to signing and the 5 year max from Miami was unexpected. If he has family already settled in Miami, it becomes that much harder to turn down 118 million dollars. Same with Melo. Some guys might just value their family's desires over ring-chasing. A fifth year for guys hitting their 30s like Bosh and Melo must be a big factor too. However, a lot of ppl on this board like to classify players as 1. ring-chasing cowards (if they reject Houston and sign with a contender) 2. greedy SOBs who don't care about winning (if they sign 5 year deals with their existing teams) So it seems you are either cowardly or greedy.
I agree with you... But personally I believe Parsons was close enough and Lillard just made a cold blooded 3. I just find this nonsense of blaming Harden like McHale knew what he was doing is ridiculous.
Geez it is business. How about you take cut at your job to help your employeer.... Oh you wouldn't? Shocker.
That is exactly my point. And yet these posters get upset when morey treats players like assets. They dont even know what asset means. It is a good thing.
Whatever. Another poster is claiming harden told parsons to do what he did. He wont prove it. I watched that play and it looks like parsons went rogue and screwed up, but looks can be deceiving.
Beverley was on Lilliard initially, which was obviously the right call and probably made by McHale since that's how they lined up after the timeout. Harden told them to switch. Watch the first minute of this: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/OuhXX-rtQTI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
people are over reacting because we finally struck out with 1 free agent in Bosh, we won't always have success getting the big names like Harden and Howard.....
He just made up that BS. Go watch the replay and you can clearly see Harden is not even near Parsons. The play was between PB and Parsons. Parsons took the inside leaving a lighting quick Lillard an wide open 3 pointer. He not only buried it, but our season as well. There are tons of Parsons only fans on here so don't take what they say too seriously or your BBall IQ will drop.
