do all these FA shuns mean other players around league don't believe in them being championship caliber or is this simply all about money? bosh went to play with miami, took less money for lebron. not saying harden / howard command that, but still would have been a formidable trio.

Bosh took less money to play with LeBron because 1. It's LeBron and 2. He didn't have any rings. Now he has rings so he just wanted the money (as well as to stay in Miami).

I think playing in the West scares guys away. Bosh, Melo not only dont want to give up money- they dont want to have to face guys like Aldrige, Griffin, several times a year and in the playoffs.

The Eastern teams we lost too offered more money, familiarity, and easier schedules. Simple as that.

It really should not, but players are stupid. They could make more in houston because they will never take the 5th hear and then they end up signing an even bigger contract sooner while they are younger.

I guess they like the security in case they break their leg. Zero risk, zero reward.

I think wives had moree to do with it than anything.

Chris Bosh was ready to come here until the Heat made him one of the most overpaid players in the league.

    There r two reason:
    first,the Rockets lost to the Portlant at 2:4 last season;
second, everyone has known the Rockets play bad defense

I don't think Bosh will opt out of his 5th year. Why should he. He will be 34 years old. It is arguable if he is worth the money he is getting this year, he most probably won't be worth the money he is getting in 4 years. He won't leave those 25 million on the table.

There was no star left that is ring hunting. Melo likes the money and the spotlight, Bosh has his rings and gladly took the insane money offer to stay in a city he really likes. LeBron went home to work on his legacy.

If Love was a FA I think we'd have had a great shot.

Thank you chandler parsons. Not only for this free agency, but had you not decided to go rogue and switch on lillard giving him the lane for an easy wide open 3 on an inbound play we would have landed at least one of the big name free agents. Beverley was guarding him well and denying him the ball. Parsons decided to switch for no reason and got burned. Lillards eyes lit up because he could now run the play easily.

**** you parsons for costing us a game 7 at home. Free agents would not care if we lost to the defending champs, but we lost in the first because you suck at defense.

2 reasons. He is more likely to get a bigger, longer contract at 34 than at 35. Also, he would not have to play the majority of his minutes out of position banging with centers for rebounds. He returns to his natural position playing with dwight. This improves his stats and even prolongs his career.

I think he decided too quickly, most likely because his wife loves it in miami. Had he considered it longer he would have come to his seneses.

Players are turned off by Morey treating them like assets.

    You're wrong on two counts:

    1) Parsons switched because Harden told him to. It wasn't Parsons's decision.

    2) Lilliard himself said that it wasn't Parsons guarding him that let him know he could make the shot, it was the second or two of hesitation caused by Harden calling for the switch.

That last-second shot was on Harden (for overruling his coach), McHale (for not insisting that ALL of his players follow his instructions), and Lilliard (for reading the defensive confusion, reacting immediately, and cold-bloodedly nailing a HUGE shot).

None of that lies at Parsons's feet.

    1. Why are you just looking at Harden and Howard...? You should be looking at Morey and McHale as well.

    2. No free agent wants to worry about being traded at any moments notice... Especially ones with families and Morey is a trigger happy GM.

    3. McHale is not a proven head coach which Cuban pointed out to every NBA player this off-season.

    4. Texas is not a free agent destination state. Howard is here because Phil wasn't in charge in L.A. and he couldn't get to Brooklyn. We were his best option.

    5. Bosh had no intentions of leaving Miami so this thread is pointless anyway.

    Dwight Howard is not liked.

Is that the main reason? Maybe not.

    But he isn't liked.
