I added this one as well.. I liked the first episode, but it felt a little choppy to me. I figure that is on purpose because of the timeslip feature of the story but it threw me off a bit.
I just get the feeling that it's one of those shows whose art just get better and better by the episode. Also, the two main male and female remind me of tsumugu and manaka respectively. Are you watching Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun? Thought I'd ask since it's a shoujo I actually liked it, will keep following it even though the female lead is the can't say how they feel types.
One Piece Unlimited World: Red came out on 3ds/ps3/vita/wiiu recently. Great game if you're a fan of the series.
Caught up on the new season after coming back from my trip and subsequent unproductive F5ing of GARM. This looks to be an incredible season for me personally. Lots of nice episode 1s so far. Aldnoah.Zero, my most hyped series, is off to a solid start. Didn't disappoint at all like I feared. The part with people in New Orleans speaking Japanese was also pretty funny. Tokyo Ghoul is well adapted. Shirogane no Ishi has potential Zankyou no Terror will follow as a darkhorse Not a huge fan of SAO in general, but did enjoy the Gun Gale story arc and production level's incredible as always
Yes. I have been reading the manga (though it's a 4koma and I'm not especially fond of those) it's cute and funny. You meet a lot more characters from the high school as it goes along... And they are what makes it more comical.
I like it a lot. There are a few "Really?" Moments but for the most part it has a good plot and follows the manga closely.
Thanks. I may give it a shot down the line. Still looking for the next anime to watch after finishing AOT / eden of the east (which had an interesting concept, but was pretty 'meh) . Thinking about going with either hunter x hunter.
Am I one if the few Anime watchers out there that can't stand subs? For me I enjoy viewing the animation and reading subs gets in the way. It is unfortunate for me since I am unable to watch many of the new series since it takes usually a year for newer series to release a dubbed version and even then not all of them get dubbed.
Hunter x Hunter is really cool. It's an adventure shonen show, so expect adventures and the main characters powering up during those adventures. I happen to like this genre a lot, but I know some people get tired of it. The most comparable shows to Hunter x Hunter are Naruto and Bleach, in terms of being in the same genre. Kuroko is good too, it's a little silly if you like real basketball(which most of us do), but it's still good fun. I call Kuroko, the ninja point guard, lol. I started watching Kuroko based on recommendations on this thread. I also watched Yowapeda recently from recommendations here and also really liked it. There are a lot of entertaining shows out there right now.
If you like the concept, check out Mirai Nikki HxH is a GREAT path to take. Waaaay better than Naruto, one piece, and fairy tail.
I just finished Mirai Nikki and I really liked it...until the ending. The ending just felt like something was missing. The OVA made things better though.
I felt the exact same way. I was like "wtf? That's it?!" I would have liked more from the ending of the OVA, even just a little of them happily together like all the others had, but I'm just being greedy.
I think most of the avid posters here prefer the subs. It's VERY unfortunate that you're missing out on so many great new animes. You should try another series all subbed, preferably one that isn't an action. Go with sports, romance, or comedy.
I get that having to read subs gets in the way of action sequences, but some things don't translate well. Ideally, you slowly pick up the language or enough of it where it doesn't matter when you only want to focus on the animation. For me, average quality subbing is generally better than average quality dubbing. I can understand 30-70% of the Japanese in anime, depending on how often they repeat the words.
I agree One Piece has been consistently good for a lot longer then any of those other animus. Bleach and Naruto have had some really low points with their arcs but every time I think that One Piece Quality is gonna dip it keeps going strong. Love HxH though. It gets really weird and dark sometimes, but its definitely the most different of the shonen you get nowadays.
What is the best subscription anime site? I looked into crunchyroll, and it looks solid. Would anyone recommend it? I don't watch much anime but plan to watch a lot more. If anyone does recommend crunchyroll, could you give any suggestions on what to watch? I'm open to watching pretty much anything. Thanks
