I think the poster's point was that we got rid of Lin for NOTHING!
In fact, we gave up something which we didnt need to.

If we waited until we got some Bosh commitment before pulling the
trigger on the Lin trade, then we wouldnt have needed
to be as DESPERATE for the Lin trade, as maybe could have
got something. Cos if it was done later, he has value as an
    expiring contract.

Right now, Lin's value is at his lowest but will appreciate
as the year continues, being an expiring contract.

So either way Lin will go, just that we'd have got something back.
This was, it was a bad move. In my opinion, of course.

I don't fault the decision. I fault that he apparently made it after he told the rockets to pull the trigger on cap clearing. By many accounts, and plain logic, bosh or his rep told the rockets he was committed and to pull the trigger to clear cap space. You cannot formally get bosh's signature unless you get rid of link and Asik etc first. That's why we moved Lin and paid a high price for it. We were on,y going to do that if we got a superstar all along, because moving him early hurts or flexibility and he might be needed later for other trades. So yeah anyone would stay in Miami and take another $30m. But he shouldn't have told us to go ahead. Rockets would NOT have done that without his instructions and assurance. Unfortunately, the rockets could not get anything more than that before doing the trade.

Remember one of Morey's best moves was the one that didn't happen; I.e. the rescinded Gasol trade. Maybe history will prove him lucky again.

Did the Rockets honestly believe we would get these free agents? Bosh has already stated that he loves Miami. Most importantly his wife LOVES Miami. For the Lin fans. Do they think his situation in LA will be better? He better produce or his ass will get booed by wanna be fans. Kobe will easily lose his **** on Lin if he makes a mistake like he did last season. The Rockets were in no way a position to acquire Bosh. He was going to stay in Miami and said it many of times. If Morey really believed that would happen then he is officially eating paint chips. The situation with Carmelo is the same thing. His wife is not just going to ok it. Court the wife and player and not just the player.

Exactly, but to add to your point, don't be notorious for being ****ty towards players/coaches. They have a bad enough rep as it is.

I think he wouldnt have stayed in Miami if he didnt already have 2 rings.

But with the 2 rings, the $30M+ is nicer than the possibility of a ring.
Then, it's just his day job.

Lebron goes to Cleveland, Now Bosh and Wade can now get max money in Miami. More max money and years than Rockets can pay out.

I really thought bosh was going to jump out of the bushes!! Very disappointed in the recent events but a Photoshop of Morey and Bosh in this would be heart crushingly epic.

Wow, Bosh absolutely played Maury. Nobody should be directing their anger towards CB. He did what was in his best financial interest. The criticism should be directed at Maury for making another huge judgmental error. The past few days Maury has been getting treated like the "asset" he so lovingly likes to refer to players as.

This was ****ed up, but i'm getting over it. Hoping the rumor of us assisting in a s&t with Anthony and Chicago has legs. Imo Gibson and Dunleavy for 11 million is much better the Bosh as 20 million, I would no longer feel sad about missing Bosh if we landed that type of deal.

    Rose
    Butler
    Anthony
    Gasol/Mirotic
    Noah

    vs

    Irving
    Wiggins
    James
    Thompson
    Varejao

Will be really fun to watch in the eastern finals.

REPPED. What Is done is done. Got to move on. Id take Gibson and his improved defense plus Dunleavy solid wing player expiring contract too and another asset from the
    Bulls.

If we get Gibson and Dunleavy that would be good... really good actually. That would make us tougher... we need toughness.

Yep, we'd also be able to spend our full MLE, BAE in this type of deal as well if we choose to.
