Is there any word on how the Rockets' players are taking the news of JVG's hiring?

I heard James Posey say that it would be different but he said that JVG will demand more defecne and that is what he(Posey) loves to do anyway so he is excited but he said it will take time for the adjustment.

Moochie Norris said that he is really amped up about JVG coming here. He said that He likes JVG as a coach, and he did a good job in New York.

it seems to me that our guys are optomistic about the situation but i cant wait to hear what guys like Steve Francis, Yao Ming, and Cuttino Mobley have to say since those are our leaders.

I guess since he said he would love to play and take his time to adjust means he is going to resign!!:D

I wonder if Posey is interested enough in being coached by JVG to take lower money that he will actually want?

Right now, I think he wants to stay in Houston. I just hope we don't spend too much money on him.

Supposedly Posey wanted to be in Houston before the trade occured, I just don't think signing him is going to be that big of a deal unless he gets some really out of whack offer we'd be foolish to match.

Yes, I agree, I hope the Rocket organization does not over bid for Posley's services cause as we all know, Players seem to play differently during contract years...

I think the resigning of Posey depends greatly on what the Bulls decide to do. They are the only team (so far) publicly going after Posey but they are the one team i'm worried about offering some crazy sum of money. Afterall they're paying Eddie Robinson something pretty close to the max to play eight minutes a game.

i just heard on ch.26(fox) that Mark Berman will have something from Yao Ming in the sports segment. I think he might talk to him by phone, but can't remember exactly.

I'll recap after sports in case anyone's interested.

It was a statement released by "Team Yao".

Basically, it said he was excited to hear the news about JVG. He felt very lucky to have played for a hall of fame coach in Rudy, and to now be playing for one of the best coaches in the game. Also said he was aware of the good work he did with Ewing at the peak of his career, that he believed JVG could bring out the best in him, and the rest of the rocks, and bring them to the next level, and that he had his full support.

Pretty generic statement, but at least he's not demanding a trade.:D

I think a lot of the Doc Rocket predictions are out as far as player movement goes. Unless they (management) sees a glaring addition/subtraction need, personnel movement may stay below radar.

I want to see Posey back (finally after all the years of trying to find a Rudy T small forward that fit his “scheme”). I want to see Moochie and Cat and even, reluctantly Franchise back to see where they may fit in and how Van Gundy might utilize them. I’m a big time Rudy T fan but I’m happy for the new blood and the new direction. It was just stuck in neutral for too many years.
