That's sad tho.
I really hope they can figure out how to keep Jones. He has a lot of room to grow and has upside still. He would be better suited coming off the bench and I think his future trade value is high as well. He seems to be respected around the league by other teams' fan bases and several writers mention him as a very good young up and coming player.
Can someone show me the breakdown of all the numbers? Especially now knowing the new cap is around 63 million. This isn't detailed enough... What about our rookies?
Yes, and it looks like Bosh needs to take a $6.5M discount from his $88M max over 4 years just to keep Parsons in the case of a straight-up signing. It is possible that the Rockets uses the potential for signing Bosh to this deal to get Miami to agree to a sign and trade (involving 3 or more teams), which would allow Bosh to make his full max while keeping Parsons and Jones. But it requires the agreement by Miami and maybe other trade partners, may cost an additional asset going to MIA and subjects HOU to a $80.6M hard cap.
That only applies if we use the non-taxpayer MLE, the BAE, or if we S&T Bosh. We can use the taxpayer MLE and not have to worry about it.
I think we can keep Jones. He's come on strong enough that Bosh would likely be willing to sacrifice $1mil($4mil over the lifetime of his contract) to keep. But even if we move both, still a top team. Not in effect if we're not S&Ting for Bosh. But even if we do, unless we use a large part of our full MLE, unlikely to reach ceiling.
F that, all that for Bosh?? Get outta here, he better take some kind of paycut so we can have TJ as a back-up. I will never understand players signing for the max when one or two million less can go a long way for a team to keep a back-up for you or any other signifcant player for that matter.
Keep Dmo...Send Tjones if we have to ship one. also, keep Canaan and Nick Johnson and Bring Troy Daniels back...
From what I've read, piecing it together it needs to happen in this order... 1. Bosh commit to HOU. 2. Trade Lin and considerations (#1 2015 + player?) and release non-guaranteed salaries (Omri, etc.) 3. Finalize Asik trade (This might not happen until 13 Jul given some player issues they need to handle and that date was important). 4. Sign Bosh before/on 13 Jul 2300 deadline for CP25. 5. Match CP25 OS before 13 Jul at 2300. 6. Fill in roster. Hopefully we can keep DMo and TJones.
