Mavs sign Chandler Parsons to 3-year, $46M offer sheet

Cuban can't attract any big name free agents, so he's willing to pay Parsons the max so he can use his big name attracting skills. Any on the court production is just icing on the cake.

They get a guarantee that the Rockets do not match and they get out of 72 hours of dead time when all the good free agents are signed.

Depending on whom they get at the 3 in such a deal, the Rockets could be substantially better defensively next year with Jones and Parsons no longer on the floor and with Bosh (if he signs) and a veteral wing defender.

 

They benefit from actually getting Parsons. I bet Morey is holding his nuts with his back against the telling Cuban " Were definitely going to match Parsons, we're not in position to just let that type of talent walk for nothing...now if you want to discuss a trade I will give you the opportunity to arouse my interest, I doubt you can though. "

 

The Rockets can still match Parsons....

What?? The offer sheet wasn't signed??

 

Not sure what is going on, but that friend of Parsons seems like a giant douchebag.

 

My only belief is that Morey has an ultimatum, either work out a sign and trade that is fair or we match Parsons. No way Morey let's an asset walk away for nothing. He got 2 2nd round picks for Marcus Camby for goodness sakes so think what he could get for Parsons.
