It's possible that Morey already has another verbal from his 3rd star and told Parsons to go ahead and sign the Mavs offer sheet so that we could match it at the very last minute just to pess off Cuban...if we really did have a wink wink deal with Parsons. That story about them not being able to reach an agreement all day could have been planted by Morey and crew.

Of course, we won't really know what happened until all the I's are dotted and T's crossed and we see what Morey pulled off or lost. But I love conspiracy theories. :)

In 3 years, Dirk will be 39 and Dwight will be 31. Meanwhile, Harden will still only be 27.

Dallas is desperately trying to find a competitive roster for the last year or two of Dirk being a good player before they will be forced to completely rebuild. Houston is one or two pieces of just entering into being a major competitor in the league.

They are not in the same situation

My fault. It was actually Spears who tweeted it.

you seem to love this guy...is he your crush? You were crying about how he would take a discount to stay with the rockets, and now you are saying its fine if he doesn't?

I don't buy any of that, Carl. I think it's bull****. In my opinion, Parsons wants to return to Houston. He also wants to get paid. Cuban going to Florida to sign him to this deal means nothing. Heck, Morey went to Lowry's front door, didn't he? It's the sort of thing expected from a guy like Cuban (or Morey, for that matter) when signing or trying to sign a guy to a big contract. In Chandler's case, a max contract.

Some may laugh, but it wouldn't surprise me if Cuban greased the wheels a bit to get that crap on "www.onlygators.com" and that this is all part of the game. Cuban would love to get one over on Morey.

After being the most underrated contract for 2 years...the Rockets will need to shell out on Parsons if they want him here...

The structuring of the contract is a Dan Fegan special...3 years with year 2 player option and trade kicker...Dallas just agreed to start the clock on Houston earlier than need be...But regardless..this is the best move financially for Parsons...to wait around after such an offer is not only disrespectful, but idiotic...especially considering: 1. He is entering his prime, 2. He is getting the max, 3. Houston wont offer him any more than $12.5

Will the Rockets match?? They have made it clear that they will...but sometimes things change. Once again...Queen Lebron and DinoBosh have totally f'd things up with their indecision...

It's actually a 2-way thing. By becoming a RFA, he doesn't become UFA next year. It will be harder to retain him if that happens. So in the end, he's also doing Rockets some favor.

Cuban is one salty dude. I want to take every last second before we match.

I was done with Parsons after he tried to switch defenders onto one of the fastest point guards in the league during the playoffs. He was to slow and Lillard drained a 3 in his face. Oh and don't mention the fact that he ran his mount until Batum decided to walk a mud hole in him and walk it dry. Yeah I am fine with seeing sissy boy go to Cuban! It fits his personality. The only thing better would be to take Lin with him!

Wait... what? The last statement I made about Parsons was that he had a big mouth and should shut up more often than not. You have me confused with someone else.

Well what are the sources saying?

I'm hearing it's because Chandler put a sex spell on Morey and Cuban and made them both lust for him for extended periods.
