Exactly, which in my opinion would almost make it more attractive.

He didn't really do anything wrong. Remember, Parsons agent and Morey were talking all day and couldn't reach a deal. That leaves me to believe it is really possible that Morey isn't matching regardless of whether Bosh signs.

Think about this. If Morey was going to match, why not have a handshake agreement with Feigen saying he will give the exact same offer as Dallas. Parsons could then not sign the offer and the Rockets would not have the 72 hour window. Instead the Rockets and Parsons could not reach an accord and Parsons has put Morey in a 72 hour window. Morey could have stopped it, that tells me that Morey doesn't intend to match at this point..... or Parsons' agent does not trust Morey.

They can't do a poison pill with Parsons. Why his SI so unreliable? Mannix is not credible.

Not really, the Rockets could have picked up his option. He should have shown some appreciation, and gave the Rockets a small hometown discount.

That can't be done. I think Parsons gets his max at 14.7m next year then gets a 4-5% raise the next two years.

I wonder if the deals can be done in principle first, and then the league will allow them to match, and keep RFA under the assumption that the trades go through.

Also, can't the Rockets & NOLA/PHI waive physicals? I bet Omer is ready to go by tomorrow morning, but Philly probably wouldn't have an issue waiving the physical on Lin I would think.

If all goes well, we get FOUR max contract guys. The cheapest one being James Harden.

I like how there's a 3 day countdown for the Rockets to get Bosh or else face the DOOMSDAY scenario of whiffing on Bosh (again) and losing a core player in Parsons or being forced to overpay him and lose all cap flexibility. It's like the NBA CBA version of Zelda: Majora's Mask

IMO, what he has to say doesn't matter if it doesn't deal with LeBron or Miami.

Why do folks think TEAMS deserve some hometown discount from players that have such a small window to earn and in this case, a guy earning well below the league average. He has every right in the world to get paid what he can get paid and bank it sooner than later. If there's any blame, it's certainly not on the player with the rejected option that kicks this whole thing into action.

What is the problem with you? Parsons did what he or anyone should do. Did you not read the info carefully?

Parsons had negotiation with Morey throughout day. I believe we knew for a few days that Mavs had offer sheet to Parsons. Apparently Morey do not want to give offer at Parson's market value.

I do not like Mavs, but you have to give Cuban credit on this. Mavs really wants Parsons' service.

I thought the new CBA let teams do a front loaded contract
    something like

    1st year 16M
    2nd year 15.4M
    3rd year 14.7M

using a reverse 4.5% increase per year.

I don't know if there is any other Poison type thing that the Mavs can use
