I grew up watching the TV series which I really enjoyed. I saw the previews for the movie...... ROTFLMFAO!!! It looks absolutely horrible..... I wont spend 8 bucks to watch some computer animated Bullsh!t. Bring back Lou Ferigno damnit!
WOW, I actually think the movie looks pretty cool. I want to see it. Now I didn't grow up watching the Hulk so that's probably why I like it. Although I'm not a big fan of Lou, once I watched Pumping Iron I just didn't think he was very cool.
Yeah, I really have a problem with the computer animation in live action films. It works great for things like Dinosaurs, much like in Jurassic Park, but with humans or human-like figures it just looks silly. I thought Gollum, was the best computer-animated character, and it still wasn't anywhere close to perfect. There's still a lot of room for improvement in the area, and it's probably only a matter of time before there's a computer-animated character who could actually be mistaken for a real person.
Only one of the 100's of Agent Smith's in the Matrix Reloaded was real. All the rest were Computer Animated. They all looked real to me.
Well in that huge fight scene, most of it was hours and hours spent on the computer. They did a good job at making it seem like real people fighting, but it was all cinematography. When he was carrying the pole, those quick, fast-paced camera shots looked like a screenshaver.
I don't know about the agent smith scene. It seemed to me that they used some old school tricks like doubles who never show their face and if you ever saw multiplicity, you know it isn't anything special to put multiples of a person on screen. I'm pumped to see the Hulk. I could care less how obviously animated the CG Hulk appears, the whole premise of the Hulk already requires you to throw reality out the window, just sit back and enjoy the ride. It's a live action cartoon made by one of the most talented directors out there. Sit back and enjoy the ride is all I have to say.
I do think the animation looks silly, but I also think the movie will be very entertaining. Gotta check it out.
My thoughts on Hulk 1) I don't think the protagonist of any movie should be computer generated. Just too large a role. It is one thing to have secondary characters but not the MAIN character. You can argue that Bana is the protagonist but we all know we are there to see Hulk 2) The Hulk is just way too big! He is TOO massive. And what's with him running at the speed of light in the mountains? Or jumping all over the place or throwing tanks. Just seems TOO much for the character. Shouldn't he be somewhat slow and lumbering insteand of quick? I half expect him to use Kung Fu! Why is he like 20 ft tall instead of 7 or 8 feet tall and closer to human size instead of dinosaur size? That's what is bugging me. Just too "much" Hulk. Doesn't work for me at all.
I grew up watching the TV show....but my son has been asking to go and see this....so we will probably go. Bring Back Lou Ferigno!
I totally agree. The action shots from the commercials do not look anything like the cartoon are comics. It looks like a giant green Neo with his shirt off.
What I don't get is how that giant Hulk is supposedly wearing the dude's pants that turns into the Hulk. The thing is like the size of a building, yet the pants still fit? Huh?
I saw a special about this, they generated all of the other guys. It's some high tech stuff. Check this out, ESC Entertainment are the guys who did it all.
This is going to end up as Spiderman. I'll see it once, and come out saying 'that was a pretty cool movie'. And then when I see it again (either on DVD or at the movies again), I'll say 'pft! What the hell was that crap?'
i was getting ready to point out that crappy scene from reloaded. the thing against the hundred smiths was all cgi... even neo. too bad i can't just enjoy the movie without trying to notice it. hmmm... maybe i wasn't trying and i just did notice it. the whole scene was just too goofy and unnatural looking. oh well... the highway scene rocked. from what i've seen of the hulk trailer, it looks HOOOOOOOOOORIBLE! especially the scene where he's running through some kind of canyon and jumping into the sky. if i wanted to see that much cgi, i'd rent a final fantasy game.
Really? I didn't think it looked real at all. I thought it was easy to determine what was computer animated and what wasn't.
Bad Start for THE HULK Posted on Friday, May 16 @ 08:34:38 EDT by Ajax (2623 reads) Studio executives are reportedly not too happy with Ang Lee's upcoming THE HULK. E! Online's Anderson Jones had the word: He's Mean, Green...and Slow? I hear execs at Universal are turning green this week after a not so incredible screening of Hulk. The studio's top brass was practically speechless. Apparently, director Ang Lee has turned in a melodramatic take on the comic book with an emphasis on drama--as in, really long and boring. Uh-oh. The suits concerns are way beyond the fanboy fears that the CGI big guy will look cheesy. Still, isn't this what Lee promised from the get-go? He has always said Hulk would be an examination of our repressed selves and the release of unchecked rage--an emotion Bruce Banner expresses by turning into a 15-foot mighty green giant. I always expected the story to be a psychological journey--it's about the Hulk inside all of us. Still, one exec says, "It's like he combined The Ice Storm with Shrek." Yikes. Regardless, I can't wait. Oh well, I was never really interested in watching it anyways.
