It's quite easy actually. If he doesn't match he let a very good player go for nothing. If he does match he's paying a very good player about $6m more than seems reasonable.

I am stunned that DM didn't withdraw the qualifying offer.
He knew what was likely to happen.

Les and DM really goofed up here.

So Cuban is ruining his team just to troll on Morey.

Let him sign offer sheet, ties up the cap of the other team (Mavs), so they are limited in pursuing options. Match. Everyone is panicking way too early.

How could Houston being forced to let Parsons walk affect the Asik trade coming up?

I'd match, wait til February and trade him plus picks/players for an actual 3rd star.

That was obviously fabricated by Fegan to raise Parsons' stock.

If the Rockets wanted to they could have kept Parsons on the cheap.
I bet this wasn't in their plans. They expected Parsons to wait.

Parsons/Cuban just screwed the Rockets out of getting another max player.
If Lebron continues to take his sweet time, then the 3 days to match just isn't enough time to bag Bosh or whoever and also match Parsons offer sheet.

[rQUOTEr]Restricted free-agent forward Chandler Parsons is finalizing a three-year, $46 million offer sheet with the Dallas Mavericks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Parsons can officially sign the sheet at 12:01 a.m. Thursday. The Houston Rockets will have three days to match.

The Rockets and Parsons negotiated throughout the day, but were unable to come to an agreement on a deal, sources said.

It is unclear whether the Rockets will match the offer, but Houston general manager Daryl Morey has had conversations with the agents for the three best unrestricted free agent forwards: Luol Deng, Trevor Ariza and Paul Pierce, sources said.

Parsons' agent Dan Fegan has Parsons and Dwight Howard as clients. If Houston matches, the two stars would be free agents together in 2017. Parson's offer sheet has a player option for the 2016-17 season, similar to Howard's contract.

Parsons has been one of the NBA's most underpaid players in his current deal, which was signed after Houston drafted him in the second round of the 2011 NBA draft. He averaged 16.6 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Rockets this season.

Parsons played a significant part in the recruitment of Howard to the Rockets and has expressed a strong desire to remain with the franchise.

So they overpay for a player just for some petty revenge?

    Lol.

Nope, you're the only person with that silly angle.

The money wont just be there guaranteed if Chandler waits. Cuban can sign someone else or withdraw it.

    You are being emotional.
