After Lowry, Melo and Bosh, who else would the Rockets have missed out on? Josh McRoberts? Granger? Vince Carter? Spencer Hawes? I'm not too worried about those guys. I'm glad that we "missed out" on Hawes.
Doesn't the cap figures come out Thursday? Maybe agents are waiting to see this number before advising clients on their long term options. All this in between is made up filler?
If you asked, what do you want a PF on this team to do, most would say: 1) Stretch the floor on offense 2) Be able to play effectively off-ball 3) Have the ability to "takeover" a game every once in a while 4) Play backup center if needed 5) Play good defense, both in the post, on PnR, and closing out on the shooter Now tell me......HOW DOES THIS NOT DESCRIBE BOSH? Stretch the floor? In his first year shooting a significant amount of 3s (up from 1 per game in 2012/2013 to 3 in 2013/2014), he shot 34% from 3. This will only improve with time. He's also a top 5 mid-range shooter. Off-ball? He's played with 2 of the most ball dominant players in the NBA in Lebron in Wade. He sacrificed more than both. Takeover a game? Had 15 games where he scored 24+. TJones had 5. Play backup center? Spent 80% of his time on the floor playing center for the Heat. Elite defense? Probably the most underrated part of his game. Houston's FO clearly thinks a lot of it. He is the best fit for us on both ends of the court. Love might be a slightly better fit on offense.
I love how people been laughing at Riley's moves when Rockets haven't done a single thing besides chasing a washed up Chris Bosh. After being rejected by Melo.
to be fair, we didn't have to give up nearly as much as we did for klow, as we would with Love. And I don't think anyone saw Lowry as our starting PG for the future.

I mean guys, can we really be mad at Bosh? He's been playing with the best player on the planet and has two rings to show for it! Why wouldn't he want it to continue? Would you want to leave? This thread should just be merged with the Lebron FA thread since that's what it's all about.
What is every one waiting? Why is Lebron taking so long to sign? Is he purposely creating drama? Make your decision and sign the hell up already!
Could very well be the case(or part of it). Remember last year the projections were actually slightly lower than real number when it came out. Could also be why Houston is seeming to act like they have more money to spend than they actually do. Maybe they all know something that we all don't.
You can find pretty of those around. Next thing you know people will cry about us losing out on Brian Cook. Summer league MVP.
That's why I said he's a good basketball player especially fundamentally but I still won't hold my tongue with saying he is weak and lame in a lot of manly areas but hey his Chris Bosh. He does help the team but at the end of the day every championship teams have a few tough, aggressive/strike fear into you players. Guess what dude... rockets aren't exempt from having to have that.
Do you want the Rockets to sign Trevor Ariza and another mid level player right now? (honest question) We don't know what Anthony or Bosh are going to do. Also the Lowry offer was made around the same time as meeting with Carmelo. There are still other options possibly (Love, Rondo, Anderson, Eryossan).
There's no way Trevor Ariza would sign in Houston, he doesn't want to be a bench player coming off of a career year.
If Rockets can't get Lebron or Melo, I would have immediately use the team option on Parsons contract so I still have him for one more year. Then give some 2 year contracts with opt out to some mid levelers to booster up bench. This is all so I can strap in for the summer of Love where I then proceed to lock his butt up for the next 10 years.
I agree with this completely. You could argue all day about whether or not LMA would be a better fit or Bosh. We could debate about if Love would fit our team better than Bosh would. I have always liked the idea of moving Horford back to his natural position at the 4. Obviously we could dream of getting another superstar like Griffin. We could even talk about how awesome it would be to have both Anthony Davis and Dwight blocking shots in the same frontcourt. Even though I think some of those guys might be better individual players than Bosh, I still think Bosh fits our team as well as, if not better than, those guys. Not only that, Bosh is also the one the is currently the most available.
