Did you hear this personally? I dont believe you would just make something like this up seeing as how your not a noob so if you heard him say it with your own ears I believe you and can't wait to hear the official announcement!

I don't doubt it. Jeff just went back to consult with his former coaching staff and get ready to move and that stuff. I could've told you this days ago. Van Gundy is going to coach the Rockets, you could tell when he left Houston that he was coming back.

I would like to add, however, that I wonder why (if this is such a big story that is breaking on their air), why they do not list this story ANYWHERE on their website.

this would be great if its true. I could see him up at this time thinking about plays and how to utilize this team. He is known as a workaholic, if a player called him at 3 am in new york when he was the coach hed go meet him at a gym to help him.
Nice stuff. I hope this is true. I want us to have a coach ASAP to be thinking about our new game plan, plays, and who to draft in the 2nd round (or 1st round if we trade for a pick).

If this is so and it could be or it couldn't be. I wonder if he is planning his strategy for next season? Questions running through his mind might be... How many Assistants will I need and who is available that can do this and that? What am I going to do with this Roster? Their defence is poor but I can fix that , by the end of the season Francis will lead the League in steals and Yao Ming will lead in Blocks. Teams will just not want to play us! Let me see we need consideration of the Point Guard, Back up Shooting Guard, yes he must be a great 3pt. shooter, Small Forward if we resign Posey and get....... for defence, yes that will do it. Now the most difficult consideration the Power Forward, do we need to keep Griffin and train him to his potential or lump him with another and go after a player thats more versatile and more experienced at a higher level like Elton Brand, or do we just move Mo Taylor etc and get the Miami pick? Boy such a lot of considerations. I had better wait to get to Houston and see what Les and CD think about all this! Its so exciting! I just cant wait to get there and get the ball rolling!
I don't. I do know JVG had always deferred this kind of question/ answer to the Rockets and CD. Even if he had given CD his answer, there was no way he would break the story before CD.
Since it has now been over 12 hours since this "breaking news" broke and we don't have any additional sources to confirm this news...I'm declaring this report BS.

why is everyone comming down on this guy for trying to break the story? if thats what he heard and he tells it to us, he is just telling what he believes is true. if his source is mis-informed thats not his fault. unless i hear something from clutch, or doc, or the others that have "inside" info i tend to take everything else as a rumor.
