Dribbling speed doesn't always translate to playing under control - If he'll have to initiate the offense for us, i'd much rather have a player that doesn't turn over the ball as much i transition just because he's trying to go fast.

At Arizona, Nick Johnson showed some lateral quickness deficiencies but it never was an issue. On defense, he's able to stay in front of his man, fights through picks very well and was an above average rebounder and shot blocker for someone his size. On offense, his game is more controlled and he gets spacing through stutter steps and drop backs as he definitely isn't the blow by type guard.

He's not a PG. He can bring the ball up an initiate the offense with set plays but he's not a break down / penetrate and dish guard. That's just not his game. He'll be able to run the point for brief periods in a pinch but he's not a natural distributor.

I hope he can make the squad from the get-go. He could be a nice backup.

one thing likely... with Bosh coming on and a gutted roster, likely to see rookie actions in 14/15.

Hopefully we can retain TJones to fill that void. I also wouldnt mind seeing Covington earn some PT this season. He is a decent defender, Good Length and can be a knock down shooter when Hot.
