I think one thing we've all seen is how much things can change in the NBA. I don't know exactly what it'd take to get Love. I know it'd take a lot. I'm not convinced that Parsons would even have to be a part of the deal. He's a RFA so wouldn't he have to agree to that s&t? I'm not here pretending to be some expert in NBA movement and contracts. I'm just a fan stating my opinion on which player I'd rather have. Btw, if it did come down to giving up Parsons, I'd probably do it. And then pick up a more defensive oriented SF.
It has been reported several times that the Rockets have an offer on the table for Kevin Love that does not involve Parsons. So if the deal does not have to include Parsons, then what are the TPups waiting on? Personally I don't think there is anyway the Pups would send Love to the Rockets with out getting Parsons in return. At least not until they have exhausted all other possible trades throughout the summer and probably up to the trade deadline.
Anyone else feel like Morey wants this out there in full force because it helps sow dissent in Miami? A breakup of the big 3 only helps us, and the rest of the NBA. Even if you don't sign one, if you can create mistrust between the Heat, Bosh & Wade's agent, and Lebron's agent ... that's a win for everyone.
No. Like the other thread in the DISH, this is just fan think. You really think a general manager is out there making offers to sow discord in a locker room? To what end? The Big 3 stay together but now they aren't besties anymore so they don't make it to the finals?
Not if they sign Carmelo and resign Gasol. Love will get the max and even though the Lakers pay luxury taxes every season that would put them in the new double tax penalty. If love isn't traded this off-season I expect the Mavs to back up the brinks truck next year
Sign Bosh outright. Turn around and flip him + fillers for KLove during the Feb window. I doubt Minny can get a player as good as Bosh in return for KLove.
One thing I could see playing out is some teams not being willing to give up as much without Love verbally committing long term. Morey has shown that he'd be willing to gamble like that. Not sure if he'd do it now. Also, Morey could play chicken with them...either take the trade now, or it's completely off the table and you could be missing out on the best offer you can get... I don't know...Just speculating...
Right because you know Bosh won't have something in his contract that has to do with him approving trades. Him being a vet and going to a team with daryl morey as gm and all....
I don't doubt that it's a sincere offer, but it's also self serving IMO. I think if you get it out there in the open that Bosh can 100% get max money if he leaves, that weighs harder on Lebron. There's an implication there that he could leave. We know the agent is going to be pushing for max money. It's reported that Bosh WANTS max money. We all know D-Wade's situation with the hourglass. You put all that together and it could give Lebron some pause while listening to other offers. The general thinking at the beginning of this was that you'd have to pry Lebron out of south beach with a crow bar. If you can get him seriously considering other offers, and then you wow him in the pitch, you get your "one chance only halftime half court" shot at landing the best player in the world. Then even if he doesn't sign with you, you also helped give yourself a REALISTIC shot at Bosh that you wouldn't get if the big 3 stays together.
Why would a rumor of "Bosh wants to stay in Miami as long as Lebron does but will sign for the max somewhere else if Lebron leaves" help Lebron leave? Don't over complicate things.
I don't think Morey plays pee-pee games like that. He ignores emotions, he ignores the media, he ignores standard social conventions between GM's, he ignores the unspoken rules of free agency, trades, and draft, he ignores what other teams are doing, he ignores what players want or say. He just operates. He had a targeted, prioritized list and is executing the plan. As outlined. Nothing more.
he can't have such a thing, so yeah, we know That being said, Bosh is about the best fit possible for this team.
Well he could have a 15% trade kicker that might make it tough to trade him. Note: He couldn't have a trade kicker that took him over his true max though.
They're moot if you are at the max, since you can't go above that (although i suppose if the cap flies into the stratosphere as somewhat expected, the potential maxes will outpace the raises, which is why the max contract players even get them)
