Beggars cannot be choosers. You are saying his legacy can only be intact if he is the man again like he was in Cleveland the first time. In that process he won't win many rings....... But it is no legacy if he teams up with Howard and Harden and wins more? What kind of logic is that? He is still the best player, no question next to Howard and Harden. There is nobody surpassing Jordan. And there won't be a Prime Shaq to team up with so he can surpass Duncan and Kobe.
Meh, I still think they're working with Riley to give him salary cap flexibility, only they don't want to seem obvious about it. Riley's weird-ass press conference seems too contrived and well-timed. When the dust settles, my money is on the Big Three back in Miami.
That's a good point. I think James has been very aware, since the 2010-11 season, of how Cleveland reacted to The Decision. Leading them on again and again would only reignite the animosity from 2010. Honestly, if he's about championships, Miami isn't the place to do that anymore. The East may not even be a true gauge for contender status, as we saw this past season. Miami cruised through the conference before being absolutely destroyed by San Antonio. I have to think that a healthy OKC would've done the same thing to the Heat, too. Teaming up with Kyrie, Wiggins (who could be gone as part of a Love trade), Waiters, Thompson, etc. and a respected coach in David Blatt is a much more stable situation for LeBron than Miami, who is reduced to begging stars to take less money than market value.
Why would they care about being obvious about it? Too much overthinking. They've already told Riley to make something work. Every media source that has commented at all has said they are working with Riley to give him some flexibility and he has to prove he can use it.
I hope he goes back. It would mean Cleveland was actually fortunate to lose LBJ, because it allowed them to rebuild with a young core that had a much better chance at winning multiple titles.

Doesn't seem like it's LBJ so much as his agent in an attempt to raise his/his other clients' profiles, but anyway I can think of plenty of reasons for LBJ to still harbor animosity for Cavs management.
I personally doubt Lebron would return to Cavs next year. This is just all the smoke screens he created in order to force Heat's hand. Lebron is trying to send a message that he is all about business and he is willing to return to Cavs. Cavs maybe good with lebron but not championship good. Lebron will at least have to endure another couple of years just like when he started with Heat. 2 years to Finals, 2 years for championships. Seriously, I think we gave him the biggest chance in winning championships right away. Who else has the making of Howard and Harden? Not to mention we got great assets overseas and picks for next few years. we beat the Spurs in reg season without Lebron, think about with Lebron we could rock everyone else. Spurs was really challenged only by the Mavs because they got a greater player in Dirt from the inside. We got Howard.
I won't believe he's thinking about returning to Cleveland until he signs a contract with them. It makes no sense for him.

Hahahha, should have been taken down the first day of free agency (or actually, should have quietly disappeared years ago, or actually, never written in the first place).....it took a bunch of morons like us pointing it out on twitter/BBS/etc to finally clue the Cavs in on this. Just proves what a joke of a franchise the Cavs are running, and why LeBron would be crazy to actually go back.
BWAHAHAHAHA, I fuggin love the NBA! <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Yeah, uh, this is concerning, the book on Rich Paul <a href="http://t.co/krVz3VWRUN">http://t.co/krVz3VWRUN</a></p>— Hardwood Paroxysm (@HPbasketball) <a href="https://twitter.com/HPbasketball/statuses/486154357462016000">July 7, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
