Very well said. Totally agree with you about Rondo and he would be a bigger pickup IMO than Bosh for this current team. He would give the rockets some very serious playoff moxy.
Never mind. It was Broussard. My bad. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Source who spoke with KLove says he would definitely "100 pct" stay in Cleveland longterm if LeBron is there</p>— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chris_Broussard/statuses/482320117410570240">June 27, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
This. All of this. Repped. Thanks for taking the time to explain all this. I was simply too lazy to do it myself. Excellent work. (And, yes, I may have talked myself out of the S&T route or at least put the cap room route on even footing.)
There is no way I would rescind the qualifying offer to Parsons and make him unrestricted if I want to keep him. Cleveland trusted Boozer and he burned them. It's easy to trust when you have matching rights, but without those rights I think you stand a really good chance to lose Parsons.
The question is whether Morey can wait long enough? because Parsons will need to get a new contract too, which could result other teams forcing rockets to match to eat most of the CAP space.
Great post, will rep. This is why I don't understand the Troy Daniels move at all. You saved nothing in cap space really and you've basically lost the player unless he is back for the minimum. I just don't get it.
The only real questions that matter are; does Bosh make us significantly better at the PF spot? Are the Rockets one of the favorites to win the west with Bosh at the 4 spot. I think the answer to both of those questions is YES. Bosh's actual salary becomes immaterial after this season because the Rockets will have Howard, Harden and Parsons making so much money between the 3 of them that they will no longer be able to get below the salary cap far enough to chase another big time free agent. Either we use our cap flexibility now or we lose it. Bosh is an all-star caliber power forward, simple as that. His style of play is a terrific fit next to Howard. There really isn't a strong argument that can be made for not signing Bosh to a max contract in my opinion. 1. Bosh would make us better defensively 2. Bosh is more of a face up player than a back to the basket type of player which is the perfect fit next to Dwight in the post.
I don't think the answer to #2 is yes. Depending on the bench I'm not sure if you get so much better to get to favorite status. One of the things I like about Melo is that when everything breaks down, Harden isn't getting whistles, Dwight can't get the ball...Melo can get you points. Bosh isn't a guy that can do that. You have 3 stars, but none of them are truly guys that can impose their will. Harden can only impose his will when the refs are helping him and Dwight can only impose his will when the rest of his teammates are getting him the ball quickly and in the right spot so he can make one move to the basket. Three imperfect stars. Still, I'd take my chances. If Bosh wants to come here I won't say no but I won't be penciling us into the finals either.
I hate this man with a passion Everytime he says LeBron, I feel like shooting his face off with a powerful shotgun. Just the way he says it... ughhh
I'd much rather have Love...I think he'd be even better than he has been in Sota on a team like this. And I think he's a much better fit offensively next to Howard than Bosh.
