This is turning into a very intricate chess match. Melo has lost some leverage with the Bosh business.
Maybe it means, Minny wanted too much for Love and now that Morey is going after Bosh, Minny is panicking and loosening up a bit?
Makes all too much sense. Bosh panics and signs with the Rockets. Melo, who reportedly wouldn't sign with Miami unless one of the big three left (most likely Bosh), ends up in Miami.
I thought he was describing Melo's mindset as being good for the Rockets. Gekko = Greed = Melo to LA/NY
Another interpretation is that Gecko is Pat Riley. Riley is the one panicking. He might drive out Bosh to nab Melo in order to appease James and Wade.
Coupled with the tweet saying Morey doesn't answer, he is answered to ... I think the Greed tweet means Melo is getting too greedy in FA. He's expecting a lot to happen in order to go to one of the glam cities (NY or LA). Whether it's joining up with LeBron in LA or convincing Pau to sign at a discount in NY, Melo wants to see if he can win next year in either city. If he knows he can't, he signs with Houston. But Morey is now moving on to see if plan B will execute now. If plan B is willing to sign with HOU, it's a matter of who commits first. This gets Melo in a state of panic. He has to either sign with a contender in HOU now, or be greedy and wait for things to happen in NY or LA knowing that the opportunity in HOU will be gone sooner rather than later.
Speech is from Wall Street. Gekko sounds like Gecko which sounds like Geico which is insurance. Insurance sounds like assurance in that Pat Riley who looks like Michael Douglas wants to get assurances from all players and insurance on DWades contract. Michael Douglas works in LA as an actor and Pat Riley used to coach the lakers. But Pat Riley ALSO used to coach the Knicks and Melo could go to either team but Michael Douglas WANTS Melo to go to the heat where Pat Riley is the President. The president of the USA is Barack which sounds like Iraq which is used as a nickname for Chicago aka Chiraq. Now clearly the choice is between Chicago, LA, NY and Houston where Pat Rileys assistant JVG currently lives therefore Bosh to Houston, Melo to NY.
This^ Its all about the hair. I think the plan all along was to get Bosh to sign cheap or let him go. Miami needs a lot more depth.
Those of you who think money doesn't matter... LOL. "It's Les's money", he'll gladly go into luxury, what's the difference between a 16 and a 24 mil contract... LOL. You guys think people who are well off light their joints with Benjamins, they think nothing of pi$$ing a couple of million down the toilet on a lost cause... The big three shot themselves in the foot. The assumption was that they would opt out and then Miami would be able to sign some talent to help them. Others assumed that they would take pay cuts to help the team, but when Lebron wants max, neither Wade or Bosh expect to take less either. The number of teams with cap space to sign them is small and the longer they wait to commit, the less of a chance they have for that big paycheck. They got greedy and now they are losing leverage.
My prediction is parsons + one of love/ bosh + maybe rondo if we get bosh or strike out on both are rockets by next weekend.
