I always thought Bosh would be the right choice. He is a perfect fit; solid defender, has range, size, can play back up center, already knows how to be an effective 3rd option. Plus, we don't have to give up any players to get him as we would if we traded for Love. So we keep Parsons, Jones/Dmo and that valuable Pelican pick. Howard (34) / Bosh (14) Bosh (20) / Jones (28) Parsons (36) / Covington or Free Agent (12) Harden (38) / Johnson or Daniels (12) Beverley (33) / Johnson or Canaan or Free Agent (15) That's a solid rotation! I really hope we land Bosh. Miami looks like they want to Bosh to leave too!
Where does the money for Gasol come from? LeBron and Melo both want very close to the max and Wade won't take any less than 11M per.
Because Bosh sacrificed a lot for that organization, he took a pay cut, opted out of guaranteed money and took the third wheel role. For them to tell him to **** off so they can sign someone better wouldn't be cool. Bosh and his agent would remember that. It's like leaving your wife for that 20 year old blonde, your gonna dance your away around the situation, your gonna hope that she leaves you before you have to break the news that you found someone else.
Forget it people. Bosh is doing it so just to create more leverage n pressure the heat not to make him the least priority in the salary sharing.
Miami is "heavily engaged" in petitioning the league to raise the max! Tune in to SportsCenter 14 times tomorrow for more speculation!!
Doesn't Parsons have a cap hold near 4 mil, though? We have to make him a qualifying offer + his option salary, so he's not just (-900k) towards capspace like you make it seem.
Is this really good news? To me this screams: Lebron ain't coming, we're out of the running for Melo, Lowry picked Toronto and Love can not get over not being our first FA option. I would definitely love to have Bosh even at the overpaid max dollars as long as Les realizes it means going over the tax in order to have championship level depth.
PR...LeBron can't have anymore stains on his resume. Can't look like the bad guy if Bosh just ups and walks away. In the meantime Melo meets with all these teams basically as a front. This was all carefully thought out.
Plus whatever the cap hit is on cole and Napier. Seems like they have tried trading cole too but have had trouble doing so
Bosh is a better fit than Melo. We need a PF not a SF. and he seems like a goofball which fits with the rest of star players.
