Yes, it does hurt me. Your posts of agreement are just a waste of time. Chill at the keyboard for awhile.
well, #1, we are just goin to say the same thing so why the hasle of saying the same subject when ima just say what he said. so, instead of doing that, im just quoting him or just support his post.. so, im sorry if yall are hurt just coz of a post..
I personally would find you less annoying if you'd shorten that signature to maybe a line or two...that's just me though... (A signature should never be consistantly longer than a post)
Another angle on this(and I am not trying to be offensive to anyone, and this is for more than just you) is that runing this bbs cost money. Clutch pays for this out of his own pocket and through donations to the Tip Jar, there have never been and never will be popups on this site. Now having said that every single post made on this server takes up A)server space and B) uses Bandwidth everytime the page is veiwed. Knowing that you have not been a member very long you aren't aware of a lot of the slowdowns/shutdowns this site goes through at peak times. Wasting the BBS bandwidth to only quote someone, post an assinine response, or post something that has been posted 500 times in other threads is greatly looked down upon. As i said before, You aren't the only one. Lately there has been a vast influx of new posters that can't quite figure out some of the BBS etiquette. Some of those guys may seem like they are being a bit harsh but most of them have been here a while and know how really good the GARM forum used to be before we had so many people abusing and cluttering the site with total crap. And with that I will once again step down from my soapbox, and say (on topic this time) that the Rockets get very little respect from the mainstream media IMO because of the misconception that it is a city full of rednecks and hicks and is behind the times. As of right now, give me Stephon Marbury, Shawn Marion, and Amare Stoudemire over Francis, Ming, and Mobley. At the very least, give me Marbury and Stoudemire over Francis and Mobley.
Good point. The 93-94 and 94-95 Rockets were not given the respect they had earned. The 2002-2003 Rockets get about as much respect as a lottery team deserves. Especially when you consider that we've been a lottery team for 3 years now.
Oh, you bring up the 94 and 95 teams? Ok, I can play that... The 93-94 team and the 94-95 teams both earned the right to claim the trophy, but only the 94-95 earned the respect of the nation. The 93-94 did not. Plain and simple. That's because the game of basketball in terms of entertainment can is a very subjective spectacle. And on pure entertainment, no one (besides Houston) liked watching the 93-94 team play. It was ugly. So, yes. That team earned the championship. But they never earned respect. That's why they were called a "fluke." And we wouldn't have won the 2nd one if we never brought in Drelxer. Twenty games in, that was clear. Bringing in Drexler brought us stability, and legitimacy. As far as our current team, we have the flair, but we lack the discipline to show that flair off. If we can't get into the playoffs, we wont get the respect nationwide as contenders. And that was what the article was about. Being a realistic contender. It's up in the air right now. We need to know who our head coach will be and make sure all the players get on board. My "earned respect" comment was in reference to someone expecting the Rockets to be metioned in the same sentence with other teams that have already been to the playoffs. We have not. So, we need to prove we can get to the playoffs first. Then we can talk about "getting respect." On an entertaiment value, I don't think the Rockets will have any problem filling that void. Francis and Mobley's iso style seems to be a big hit with the WWE crowd. Hopefully we can stiffle that tendancey to play that style for more a team orriented style. Something the Rockets haven't had since the Malone/Murphy/Dunleavy days.
