I had Germany, Brazil, and Netherlands pegged as the better teams.
France looked horrendous against Germany and Colombia will be a lot better in the next world cup.

He deserves sympathy, it could have been worse.
Or would you have been fine with that too?

Neymar suffers permanent nerve damage, HAHAHAHAA!
Huge loss, but it doesn't look that bad. I think he'll be fine next game. Assuming Argentina pulls this out.

Germany did not look so good against African teams Ghana and Algeria.
    I am on the fence

Netherlands had a rough time against Australia and Mexico.

As the assistant coach of the USMNT said every team is flawed.

Germans have a good chance to go to the Finals IMO but I would not count Brazil out just yet

I guess to each his own.

Would you have sympathy for Chris Paul a perennial flopper with his dirty and cheap tactics on the floor if he has a broken wrist?

I do not condone injury or wish injury to any player, however I have less to little sympathy for certain players if they were to get injured esp. those who bring the game into disrepute with cheap antics and theatrics.

Classless. It's one thing to not have sympathy for a guy hurt by common means but head hunting? Pathetic. I guess you must love Matt Barnes.

Let's not compare the Colombian to the bad boys of the NBA.

Zuniga never got a yellow card in the tournament before so I do not think he is a consistent dirty player as some have suggested.

Rough game, perhaps heated in the moment. Players on both sides wanted to win bad.

Now we are seeing the same thing. Belgium is behind and they are getting nervous as well, result in more flagrant fouls.

Lol, there is no way to say that was deliberate. Zuniga has zero track record of being a dirty player.

That was a foul out of frustration. Had the ref done his job from minute 1, I doubt such a challenge would be made.

What is classless is Divemar rolling on the ground hundreds of times before in his career with zero contact like he has been shot. And the one instance where he has a legit injury, you expect all fans to show sympathy for a perennial diver, flopper and one who brings the game into disrepute?

    Have some perspective.

Then you might not be disappointed in Luxembourg

    Argentina made it through

"That was a foul out of frustation" IS NOT A JUSTIFICATION.
Most people here, myself included, don't like Derek Fisher, but I wouldn't be happy if one of our players just went at his knees and tried to end his career.

    Anyways.
Glad Belgium lost all they do is flop and whine.
This is exactly how I felt after Portland got thrashed by the Spurs. Sweet vengeance.

    Yes I would have sympathy.
You might hate Chris Paul because he exaggerates contact but I do not want top tier talent getting hurt, they make the game fun to watch. Just because he flops doesn't mean people should not care if he gets injured.
I didn't exactly like it when Westbrook went down either. He was one of my favorite players, I hated his attitude and his thuggish demeanor, but he is fun to watch.

Disappointed in Belgium. They were showing little to no initiative in the match, even though they were chasing for over 80 minutes. I think the goalie didn't even need to make a save throughout the match.

Arno - am trying to take on your positivity for this match but am still ridiculously nervous. I almost prefer playing the 'big' teams - I don't like being the favourites on paper, particularly as these guys have done exceptionally well against Italy and Uruguay.

LVG is also taking his tactical changes to another planet, lol. Now Depay starts as left-back?! Next thing we know he'll put Clasie in goal and we call him a genius. I wonder how much of the ball we'll see in this one.

EDIT - turns out media wrong, Depay isn't at left-back. Ha.

Yeah belgium was disappointing. But their offense is just not that good.

I am optinistic. But i agree i prefer to be the underdog. Since losing hurts less. But we will win this game. No problem. 2-0.

Pretty solid defense by the young Costa Ricans. Good work by Navas.

Wow Costa Rica is really not even trying to score.

In what way struggling? Costa Rica has not been dangerous. And we have had a couple of great chances. We will score in the second half. I am not worried.
