    DVD out Tuesday !

'Old School' revisited: Sequel and DVD

    By Mike Snider, USA TODAY

At the end of the spring surprise hit Old School, Frank the Tank (Will Ferrell) was spinning tunes at a college radio station. The beat will go on: DreamWorks plans a sequel.
No details yet on who will return or join the offbeat fraternity started by Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson. Director Todd Phillips and writer Scot Armstrong are in negotiations to write the sequel's screenplay.

If you just can't wait, on Tuesday you can pick up the Old School DVD, which has deleted scenes and commentary. It also features an "Unrated and Out of Control" version with bawdy footage ¡X and additional bloopers ¡X left off the R-rated theatrical version. (The movie also is available in rated and unrated VHS versions.)

Wilson says he was surprised at the film's success ¡X it grossed more than $75.5 million in the USA.

"I was in New York the weekend it opened and never had that experience of people immediately recognizing me on the street," he says.

One DVD extra has Ferrell in the persona of fawning Inside the Actors Studio host James Lipton, interviewing his Old School co-stars. Ferrell characterizes Phillips and the actors as "deities" who have "single-handedly changed the world of film, acting, comedy in one fell swoop." Wilson was happy to play along. "I had seen Will do it a few times on Saturday Night Live. It did seem funny to talk about Old School in a very reverential tone," he says.

Ferrell says another SNL alum urged him to do Lipton.

"I actually got a phone call from Bill Murray, who said, 'You know who you should do is this James Lipton guy.' I remember thinking, gosh, I don't want to let Bill Murray down."

Speaking of American Pie, did you hear that they are working on another one right now? I think it's gonna be called 'An American Wedding' or something like that.
