So hypothetically, Carmelo Anthony verbals to the Chicago Bulls. This is a good thing because this makes Jimmy Butler expendable who I think is a better fit to the Rockets than Carmelo himself.

    Wait, what?

There's no doubt Carmelo Anthony is a much better player than Jimmy Butler but I think Jimmy fits with this team better than him. Butler is already one of the best defenders in the NBA at age 24 and his offensive game was coming a long way in 2013 before injuries hampered him last season. Not only this but if the Bulls were to land Melo, the Rockets would hold all the leverage in a deal for Butler.

Melo made it clear, he wants both Butler and Gibson there if he choses them.

How does it make Butler expendible:confused: He would fit perfectly next to Melo. What are you even basing this on?

Money? The Bulls can't keep Butler and Gibson if they want Melo. Butler didn't help the Bulls pitch Melo, Gibson did.

Butler would be great on this team. The dude plays excellent defense and knows his role. Can shoot the 3 and really knows how to get to the ft line as well. Put him at the 3 and slide Parsons to the 6th man role.

How much would Butler cost the Rockets, and would we still be able to keep Parsons?

I hope you mean as a cheap bench player, because you are definitely not advocating benching Chandler Parsons for a guy who just shot 39% from the field and 28% from three for a full season.

This isn't nba2k, he's the best wing defender they have and thibs loves him. If you acquire melo who doesn't play d, it only makes more sense to keep him. And if you knew anything about Butler's past you would know getting away from Houston probably saved his life, doubt he'd want to come back.

    This is so stupid!

How would we have leverage in a deal evolving a player that's not availible. Please explain...
