If Lebron doesn't join the Rockets I believe he won't win another championship for a very long time, if at all. None of the other destinations will bring him a ring, including Miami.

    How can they not?

Don't they have about 24mill in cap space after giving Dirk 10mill?

[note that Haywood's amnesty amount doesn't actually eat into their cap space]

Pretty sure if Lebron agreed to the max with them, they would renounce their rights on those guys, and shed the caphold...

Lebron is staying. So incredibly obvious. Melo likely will grab ny's big money.

True, but my point is why would he?

Is Dirk, Monta, Chandler, Crowder a more attractive core than Irving, Wiggins, Waiters, Varejao, Thompson?

    I seriously doubt it

    63-35 > 21 (Bron's max).

Capholds are only capholds until they are renounced.

I don't get why LeBron would even remotely consider signing with Phoenix.

If I were LeBron and looking for the BEST team members possible to help me get to a Championship I would be thinking about who were the best players in the league available to team up with. First, need a big man to hold down the paint, preferably someone proven and at least an All-Star . . . . I could play with Dwight Howard??? I'm all ears!! Second, need someone in the back court who can dominate and not break down physically any time soon. . . Did you say I could play with James Harden?? Hell yeah! Hold on, Hold on, Hold on. . . . You're telling me I could play with both of those guys??? Wait a second . . . there has to be a catch. . . . the rest of the team must suck. . . No??? Pat Beverley, Chandler Parsons and that young stud Terrence Jones are also on that team??? Daaaaaang!!! Wait, wait, wait, I ain't gonna get paid jack to play with that team! Screw th... Huh? They can pay me $19 million and NOT get rid of any of those guys???

    (2 seconds later on Twitter)

H-TOWN MUTHA F##KA!!! See ya South Beach!!

Well, that would be my reaction.

They have something like $7mill to fiddle with - so they could bring back Carter and/or Marion on low amounts, then sign Harris (less than $1m in caphold) after Lebron signed.

I'm not saying it will happen, I'm just saying it is possible.
    And is a lineup of
    PG Harris
    SG Monta
    C Chandler
    SF LBJ
    PF Dirk
    + Carter/ Marion/ Crowder
better than the running mates he would have at the Cavs? I don't know, but it's essentially the core that took the Spurs down to the wire, + James and + Chandler.

But if I'm Lebron, and genuinely looking to win, I'm working out how to get to Houston and team up with Howard/ Harden.

Pat Patterson tweeted today about how there might as well be 8 teams.

Melo still hasn't accepted the Knicks contract and a long time lurker busted out a "see you in the next 4-5 years"

    I think we got someone.

Either means we aimed high and got what nobody expected us to get.

    Or...

We aimed too high and got burned.

I'm confused. Did we meet with Lebron's agent? Feigen said we did.
