Didn't Byron Scott take three games to make adjustments versus Shaq last year? He's a stubborn mule.

He'll have to get off his high-horse and play him tonight if he wants to win.

Mutombo 20 min. Duncan 19-12 Robinson 10-8 DM's numbers are weak, but defensively he makes a huge difference for the Nets against the Spurs big guys. His 3 blocks provided some intimidation in the middle... BUT he had to wag his finger, I really hate that

Kidd really stepped up though, that of course was the key he played like Duncan did in game one. Looks like we have a series. :)

If its 4-1 Spurs they have won the series correct? To win a series you must compile the necessary amount of games in this case 4. Are you suggesting the Spurs are so disheartened after this defeat they are going to quit? Do you have inside info this could be big. ;)
One thing is certain the Spurs are not used to playing so many games, they may have very well worn themselves out after game one, this isn't a 50 game year you know? This is tough for the Spurs to play a full season and continue playing so long in the playoffs. Do you think they realized the championship was best of 7 not best of 1? Did they think this was a consolation game for 2nd place? Poor Spurs they must be so confused right now, thats ok Poppy will set them straight.

    Classic:)

    More classics:)

    Care to bet?

Relax, the Spurs should win. Unless they go down 2-1 or 3-2 they are overwheliming favorites still. Still you have to joke at their overconfidence.

Duncan is the worst clutch FT shooter in the NBA bar none. His shots barely draw rim in the clutch!

Still, Spurs as unimpressive as they are and with their best player being a choker will still win in 6 because NJ simply sucks and SA has much more talent overall.

So, a team that "simply sucks" will take 2 games from the NBA Champion?

Jesus Christ, I'd be surprised what the Nets would do if they were an average team!

Will Mutombo get more playing time in game 3? Even Duncan is praising his performance (which I think is foolish) in game 2...

    ESPN:
When Scott made his usual move of playing his second unit at the start of the second quarter, Dikembe Mutombo, not Aaron Williams, was on the floor. Mutombo stayed out there for all 12 minutes, giving the Nets an unexpected lift offensively with an up-and-under move by Duncan and a jump hook over the league MVP. The four-time Defensive Player of the Year even did his trademark finger wag to the crowd after rejecting Kevin Willis' layup attempt. (dork)

Mutombo's defensive presence, along with Lucious Harris' hot shooting (4-of-6 and eight points in the first half), enabled the Nets to stretch a 19-18 lead after one quarter to 41-35 after two.

"I thought he played very well," Duncan said of Mutombo, who played an inspired six minutes in Game 1 to earn his 20 minutes Friday. "He does what he usually does. He affects shots around the basket. ... I thought he was a big boost for them. He played with a lot of energy."

"We made (Duncan) think twice, sometimes three times," said Mutombo, who had four points, four rebounds and three blocks. "We challenged him every time when he was going to the basket."

It's not that simple. Even if you stop Nets' fast break, Kidd can break down any defense almost at will. He shown that in Game 2 win last night. They only have about 13 fast break points, and they won, because they control the paint and with great defense they make the Spurs' turn over tons.

I wish we have J. Kidd, we'll be the champs right away.
