Maybe they are not lowballing him, maybe they are offerring what they think he is worth. If he plays like a role player, pay him like one. He never should have opted out.
Bosh has the skillset to really solidify our team. He stepped up towards the end of the Indy series and somewhat in the finals. He's looking more like the TDOT Bosh now than he ever did while in a Miami Heat jersey (with exceptions of the games where both Wade and James were out and he blew up for like 40 and 15)
Tricky situation. Could play very differently had bosh and wade just opted in Wade and bosh takes haircuts lbj stays. Waee and bosh dont take paycuts lbj leaves.
I think this is the unintended consequence of doing the big three at the prime of their production. Unlike the Celtics who took Garnett and Allen in the twilight of their careers. Where it made sense for them to take less money in a diminished role. Bosh, Lebron and Wade could all be making max money on different rosters if they had decided to be "The Man". Now their numbers and production have all fallen due to sharing touches. Bosh will sacrifice the most money due to this arrangement. Lebron is Lebron, and Wade's health is failing but Bosh in now in the prime of his career. Bosh in my mind is a similar talent to Love but in his diminished role he has diminished his value. While everyone is falling over themselves to sign Love, Bosh is now viewed as a role player instead of the 20/10 guy he had been before he came to Miami.
I think if he kept his rebounds over 10 per game, I would still view him as such, but its been 2 years in a row below 7. He seems to dissappear a lot and I don't even realize he is playing. Why would you pay a guy that much money. He reminds me more of Horry. Can be a good intangibles guy, but not at a high salary guy. He also didn't seem to step up when Wade was down this year. Had his worst year. Not sure how you can say he is in his prime.
Well, his numbers are starting to slip and his knee's aren't getting any better. He never should have opted out of his contract either.
I mean it more in the sense of age. The prime of a players career is generally thought to be between 28-33. A star player should be raking in as much money as possible in that time frame. I agree with what you're saying, I'm just saying he sabotaged that. If you replace Love with Bosh on the Timberwolves I think he still could be a 20/10 guy. They still don't make the playoffs, but he could be commanding more money. With his diminished production he is no position to make contract demands.
If max money in 2014/15 was his goal, I agree. Perhaps Bosh feels the money he wants out of Miami he can get elsewhere if the Heat don't step to the plate. If Lebron gets his full max, and Bosh gets close to what he was getting last year, the Heat are going to have a hard time plugging in significant help based solely on Wade's savings.
My source tells me Bosh is going to Sacramento along with Love, Ramon Sessions and Derrick Favors to form a big five. Bosh Favors Gay Love Sessions Badabing!!!!
If you're going to make that joke, can't you expand that given it's Sacramento? Bosh Favors Gay Love Sessions with Cousins on the bench?
