I would imagine there is a community ruling that placed a time frame in place to make it more manageable. Some people are more traditional and will fast the duration of the sunlight. Day 2 is in the books guys, so far so good! Let's stay strong, generous, and pleasant these next 4 weeks Insha'Allah!
i think if ppl were generous, healthy, kind, and grateful all year long then we wouldnt need a month of forceful reminding.. being an all-round, holistically well person for reasons that bring you into a positive feedback loop for your own benefit and increased enjoyment of earthly existence. people wouldnt do this if there wasnt heavenly incentive or firey brimstone to force them. this method does nothing but mask the real reasons that we should attempt self-improvement
then theres muslims who dont actually believe in the heaven and hell stuff, but just do it for the social contract obligation..
I agree it would be much better if people were to act this way all year instead of just during Ramadan. I also agree that there are "Ramadan only Muslims" who participate for social status reasons only. I do feel that even if for one month those people are to act nicer than they normally would otherwise, than it isn't a bad thing. Also, I feel that Ramadan should help remind us all how fortunate we are to have the things we take for granted every day (food, water, etc) I am not looking to get into any debate on the topic my friend. I think Ramadan helps me to become a better person, and has molded me year by year. I hope everyone who participates can benefit from the experience
I know I've played ball before while fasting.. It's not bad. But these score players will be playing in extreme heat for 90 minutes. Futbol takes more out of a person than basketball IMO.
well i had my phone stolen a couple of nights ago at the masque during taraweeh.. getting hard to not think about what im going to do to the person who stole it.. :/
Brother, I'm sorry your phone got stolen. But remember, Allah is just, and whoever stole your phone will be dealt with by Allah, and iA, for your efforts and dedication for going to taraweeh, you will be rewarded with something better.
Hey, guys! Look over here! He isn't Muslim and he's posting in the Ramadan thread! Have you ever seen something so thought provoking?!
There's this chick that wants this Friday off because of her religion. Good to know it starts Sunday. I didn't her bull****
