This Jeremy Lin story is probably the reason why Lowry decided to stay in Toronto.

Beverly knew he was still going to be on the team even if D. Howard signs with the Rockets...For Lin's case, If Carmelo comes LIN HAS TO BE GONE...dumbasses don't think, it's not just a number change. Heck I'd rather have Carmelo than Lin too.

Yes, surely the $48 million contract sitting on the table was not.

    Lowry loves Lin!

    You guys are classless!!

The rockets never would have done the same thing to any other player! Morey only did it because he hates Lin!

That's business. Lin needs to suck it up and stop acting like T-Will on Twitter.

Sports fans are fickle as shit. Just yesterday everybody was defending Lin when he was one of the biggest reasons not named Harden why they lost in the Play-offs this year. Now everyone is downing Lin because he posted that Tweet of how he honestly feels about the Rockets organization. What a bunch of flip floppers.

Rockets probably could have given Lowry the same amount.

Meh whatever. Just like Lin knows now, bev knew then. The more talented player is going to get to take whatever number he wants, as long as it's not retired.

Lin should just be happy he's getting 15 mil next year.

Lowry wants to sign the deal right now. This is $48 M we are talking about.

He is not stupid. He knows he is not the first option for the Rockets when it comes to FAs.

That poster was for Melo, not Lowry.

How many NbA players say other players contracts are ridiculous? You don't begrudge a fellow player fromgetting the best deal possible. Melo is a jerk, a team killer and a coach killer. Houston will win nothing with him on board. Some players just attract the wrong vibes and Melo is one of them.

It's completely different. Howard coming to Houston had no correlation to Bev. Lin and Melo however, have a history. And it's well known that the only way Carmelo is coming in is if Lin is moved. It's a slap in the face for the Rockets to be so publicly courting Carmelo when it means the end of Lin's tenure as a Rocket, and to prop Carmelo up on the billboard with Lin's number just adds insult to injury. You would never see the Spurs doing anything like this.

Basketball is a business. Lin was given a contract he didn't play up to. If I underperformed at my job I would be terminated. He still is guaranteed another 15 Million dollars. He should be happy and be a professional.

I understand that. But I also understand why he would be upset. Would you not to be upset if the team and teammates you once called your own were publicly lobbying for your replacement? I feel for him, and wish him the best wherever he winds up.

Well if you read outside of clutchfans, most fans from other teams think it's a dick move. But TBH, if you are truly a real rockets fan, you shouldn't be acting as if this was ok for the organization to do it. NBA players DO read this forum. One of the reasons Dwight joined Rockets is because he wants to play freely and be treated with respect and honour again by the organization and fans. Can you imagine any player who'd want to come knowing that the organization will treat them like an asset with no respect?

I respect and support Morey in doing what needs to be done to get the championship team ready. But the way it was handled this time (without informing Lin prior to the banner) is a bad move PR wise, especially with such a controversial character. And with all the drama stirring, it could be a make or break for many FAs.

What are you talking about?...he totally took the high road on social media. Lin is a lot of things but mentally weak is far from one. He had to overcome so much to get to where he is and has hit some big shots for us this season...shows just how much you know about the guy.

Spurs would not be stupid enough to give Lin the contract that the Rockets did in the first place.

And to be fair he wasn't really put in a place to live up to his contract. Without Howard and Harden who knows how well he would have done. Not really a chance to live up to a big contract when your coming off the bench.
